I understand that this is a predominately professional message board with alot of seasoned pullers, however I was just wondering who all on this board considers themselves a novice/amateur puller? and also who are the best up and coming non-pros in everyones region?

I'm definitely a novice. I've been pulling for about a year and a half, but only rarely do I do any actually pulling, and even more rarely with a pro. I'm hoping that with some more weight loss to get me in the proper weight class and some hard training I'll be ready to pull a pro class this summer.

I pull novice. I tried pro. About a year ago. I went up against Big Luke E. I am around 260 and he is about a hundred pounds more than I am. It was like pulling a building. I could not move him.

I am an amateur, and have been for about 2 years, after pulling novice classes for about 9 months. I got two firsts in those classes, and then not even close to a first after doing only opens after that. Colorado tourneys tend to have only novice and open classes, without a specifically designated amateur class. Occasionally there will be novice, open, and pro. Two top-notch CO amateurs to look out for in 198s are Justin Kaufman and Jeff Workman. Those guys pull the occasional pro class (I think); Justin may chime in on that. My record against those two is something ridiculous, like 0 wins and 20 losses..... Gotta keep trying though!

I'm a novice but I started pulling pro/open classes last year to get better. I usually win one or two matches in the open/pro class and then I'm done for the day.
