Frank, I totally agree with you. I quit going to that tourney for a few reasons as well. The referees don,t know the rules and the tables are junk. . Hell, a few years ago, my son, Boomer was pulling Gene Dunn and the referee said go and Boomer flashed Gene. The referee then said he was giving Gene a re-do!! ! The table's do suck. He really should get some new ones. but the ref's were rediculous. I didnt have any prob from them in my match's I lost fair and square. but I noticed 2 people (just while I was there) who got flashed and the Ref's started them over. and then other time's the ref's just looked at eachother dumb founded.

A Re-Do was the referees exact words! The referees there show alot of favortism. The refs must really love Gene Dunn there 'cause I watched Tim Inman put him down a half inch from the pad and Gene lifted his elbow in the air and the refs restarted the match and Tim ended up losing it. Plus both of Genes feet were propped up off the ground. I do believe Mr. Inman has video of this....P.S. their tables suck so we don't go anymore. P.S.S....Willie-I believe this is the same year you speak of.

Well Im glad Im not the only one that feels that way about the tourney. From what I heard the number of competers were down. I Expect the same next year.
On a positive note a couple of pullers stick out, Robert Bishop looked super strong. I havent seen him lose left handed in quite some time. Cobra and Mike bowling looked very impressive. Dave Chaffee was the man in the 231's. super good guy also. Ya Ray J looked ok....lol

Yea Henry I do have video of that It was 4 years ago and I said I wasnt going back ....But I did. And im saying it again. I will not go back to that event untill I hear that they have fixed the tables and untill they have refs who know what they are doing. I have ben armwrestling for 10 years and have never seen worse refereeing or worse tables .. i gotta give it up for Jeremy Fraley, and Ray Jenkins.... Good Job guys !!!!

maybe Karen can explain why these rules were overlooked First match me and Dave had we agreed to a refs grip. Refs said thats not allowed. see rule 15.
Every match was over a minute to get to a refs grip. see rule 13.
they would close fingers. competors would move all over, carve wrists they would try to straighten them out in the reffs grip. see 14.
13. Referee's grip must be administered after thirty second time period has lapsed. 14. No movement will be allowed during or immediately following administration of referee's grip. 15. Competitors may waive the thirty second time period if both agree, thereby starting the match in a refereeās grip before thirty seconds has lapsed
3. Use official American Armsport Association equipment, categories and weight classes, scoresheets, and officials. Minimum of one qualified AAA referee must be hired and paid per table used. A listing of qualified referees may be obtained from AAA headquarters. 4. Must provide all official equipment necessary for hosting an event, i.e. tables, straps, chalk, plywood, drills, band aids/tape, scoresheets, etc.

Frank I like a man that does his homework. I have practice tables better than those and they are not bolted down but still don't move that much. I never thought of putting my old bathroom flooring on top of my tables with some duck tape either but some do. Good comp. had fun but WOW what a mess.

the matches in the 138 in which Brad Spine won all started out in a hook because of the way the refs allowed him to carve his wrist. I would like to see he and Mark, and Matt go at it again in normal event GREAT JOB though on wining Brad

Here are the table specs.
1. Table tops are padded with 1/4" foam and upholstered. 2. Elbow and pin pads are made of rubber or high-density foam, upholstered, and screwed or bolted or table top. 3. Table frames should be made of square or round tubing or pipe, and bolted securely to plywood no less than 1/2" thick x 38" wide x a minimum of 5' long in order to maintain stability during competition. 4. All AAA/WAF table top overall dimensions are 26" wide x 36" long with 1" solid, round pegs 6"high from table top, and set in 1" from edge of table. Inside dimensions are 36" long from center of peg to center of opposite peg. 5. Pin pads are 2" wide x 4" tall x 12" long, angled on the table to measure 3 1/4" from the closest corner of the pad to the competitors edge of the table, and 4 1/4" from the center of the left peg to the closest corner of the pin pad. 6. Stand up height is 40" from the floor to table top, not including elbow pad. 7. Elbow pads are 7" square x 2" thick, set in 2" from competitor edge of table. The left edge of elbow pad is 16 1/2" from the center of the left peg. Right edge of elbow pad is 12 1/2" from the center of the right peg.
I know not all tables can look as nice as mine or Klembas. But have them at least up to aaa standards. AAA calls for offset Pads..... they were straight
The bathroom floor linoleum top on the table was a beautiful touch
