LMAO my thoughts exactly Brandy!!! ;D D*MN....i keep getting drawn back in.....i'm sure it is my fault. I started this thread and have UNSUCCESSFULLY convinced anyone of my thoughts. Thats fair, I get it. But seriously, these responses make me ask this question. I just want to know what impression you've gotten from my thoughts. am I trying to make the classes easier? Can I just not make 65s and need a class that suits me, so the stars can align and I can be competitive? or am I just so badly spoken that noone understands what i'm getting at and I just need to get over it and pull? MY ANSWER: I am trying to convince anyone paying attention to this,....... that in order to win this tournament or even be competitive...THE STARS better align perfectly or even pullers such as Allen Fisher will have ZERO chance of just WALKING through the class....... REAL ANSWER: I am FAILING at attempting to make the classes even more competitive. I see your point........but I could be a bit biased I could be one that needs to suck it up and not worry about a "couple".....errrr 20 pounds(if it was one or two people OK, 15+, some the best in the US at the weight, thats a little much to chew). The women should have as many classes as the men so at worst they could get 2nd place and be in the cash out of 2 in the class. Comparing men classes/competition to womens is apples to oranges IMO. I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, as I hate women AW ect...

I definately see all the points. But we are mentally conditioned to see more classes. I for one voted or said I thought 4 was the best which is still less than the " norm"
I know Vasgen said most wont go pull 165, But I certainly thinkl he can place and it would be fun seeing some matchups even if it were 176.
see some people dont like the reality of placing 5th-8th they like to be at the top of a class and finish top

I have read 6 pages of this and what some of you get it but most don't. With 3 classes.........there is no fair way to do it. As a tournament promoter you do your best to split the baby down the middle and just run with it. The light 176 lbers can cut some weight and make 165. The 154 lbers can stop dieting and pull in the 165 class. The 143 lbers are just in a tough boat and are pulling to pull. If you are a 220 or 242 guy you will have a tough time but the Arnold is 199+ and we get plenty of competitive armwrestlers at that weight and the event has been won several times with armwrestlers below 230, granted they were Ron and John but still they were not super heavies. So pull the classes offered and my opinion is, if you are going to do 3 classes then 0-165, 166-198, 199+ is the best split that can be done.

Here's a little thinking out of the box...... If Gary/Don really want to put a super event and truly crown someone "ruler of the nation", they should rank the top 10-15 pullers in the North America and do an invitation type deal. Where 10th takes home $500 and on up to 1st getting a super payday! Bresnan, Brzenk, Bath, Barboza, Lupkes, Bagent, Larratt, Espy, Randall, Caddorett and even HOLLYWOOD (sorry if I left any of the other studs out). That's the event ESPN would want, and we would all go to just to watch. Then hold a full on medal tourney for everyone else. 54,76, 98, 220, + and womens.
After a couple years on tv with National sponsors, Arm TV would be blowin' up with new members and then he could do good payouts to multiple classes. All the worlds problems would be solved.

Truth is...you are right. Some can't cut it. This is the Ruler of the Nation. Not the "Lets try to please everyone who is not the best" I mean no disrespect but the reality is if you dont feel you can get top six amongst the best, then you probably don't belong. This event is for those who think they are the best of the best and want a shot to prove it and can be compensated for there efforts. perfect..........couldn't have said it better myself....and I am one of the guys jumping into the shark tank at 220 in an unlimited class. This is an elite tournament for ELITE pullers, stop trying to cater to your ideal weight classes to dodge a few people that are better.

Rob, did you read anything that I wrote, because none of it had anything to do with what Bob was saying.....it was the complete opposite. i was tryin to stack the classes even more.

it has nothing to do with my weight.....i can make 65s.....just, if its me, i would swing the weights to the right to add potential competitors.......off the top of my head in the 65s or would be 75s....you would add Klemba, Simon B, Snook, Shoemaker and others......those guys cant make 65s.....but definately can make 75.......on the low end of that you have lighter guys plenty competitive enough to compete with those pullers.......Dye, Kindt, Miller...VASGEN, Rivas..al those guys own the 54,65s and would be plenty competitive with Klemba and that crowd.....Thats a FREAK class......210-215....whatever....is the same.....I'm pretty sure there are plenty of 98s capable of competing with some of the 215 -220 guys....look at Rakers -vs- Hirst afterpulling.....I promise you Chandler, Rakers, Larson, Clark, Wolfe and those guys are plenty competitive with with Hirst and others that could make 215......another FREAK class.....add some of the lighter 220 guys to the strong 98s and you've got a show......which leaves.....Eric Brown, Chaffee and some of the other beasts to pull with the super heavies...... i'm telling you....you get a better idea of the smaller guys potentially all being able to make that class along with even more larger guys to fill up the middle class and plenty of room to pull all true 230-240 and up pullers to stack a heavies class... believe me or not.....? Aaron...I think this post explains your thoughts best. I completely undersand your rationale. I think 175, 215, 215+ would be great. That would make those "freak" classes you spoke about....and make for some great matchups. I also understand Bob's comment about how there will always be someone in the middle. The 198's is a great class, but it's always the same guys. I think it would be awesome to see some of the good 220 guys thrown in the mix with guys like Rakers, Silvers, etc. Making 220 guys pull with the elite super heavies doesn't sound good to me. If there is only enough dough for three classes, I think 175, 215, 215+ would draw more pullers and create the potential for the most exciting matchups. Just my two cents...
