if people are gonna start saying if it was a best of 3 Mike would have won so he should be the best then no sorry Cyplenkov is the best in the world because he pulled Mike 3 times and won 2 out of 3. terrible analogy....they didn't pull back to back at the Arnolds

Hats off to both gentleman...4-2 for Devon sounds like a great battle!!! The best of 3 is thought provoking for sure Jon... would've favored Mike I thought due to his heart & endurance. Devon's hand & wrist were to much for Mike from what I hear.... let's see how Jerry fares. I said he'd beat Devon way back so we'll see. It appeared when Mike got in the press it was over PDQ.... makes you say Hmmmm!!??

Armwrestling has a great twist happening and this match up shows it pretty well.
With the introduction of the 6 round format, it has brought endurance to the for-front of our sport. Its like Sprinter and Marathoners in running. Its obvious that in the running world, these 2 different styles of running could never beat each other in there specific style. However if the question was asked, "Who is the best runner?" and you had too only pick one. Who would your pick be? The greatest sprinter or the greatest long distance runner or some distance in the middle?
I would agree to Devon is the greatest "6 round" armwrestler. As I think most would agree.
But this still leaves the question who is the best armwrestler? I assume the question will be debated forever. My opinion would be Best of 3 would most likely determine the best. But again its only an opinion.

I understand that Devon won the supermatch..but bearing in mind that Todd won match one and three, He would have won a best of three.....Devons win over Randall was best of three and was accredited to the advancing of Devon's reign..so what format is the one that determines the best? No, Obviously he is NOT the best. As stated previously, they BOTH knew it was a 6 match format. If it were 3, "maybe" BOTH would've trained differently...I certainly would have. Devon doesn't need to put on anymore weight. Why should he?It won't help him, he's already beating everyone. My opinion, MT should'nt have gained so much weight. Its NOT strength that beats Devon, its stamina, and smarts....When you put all that weight on, you get SLOWER and tire out QUICKER, and not necessarally stronger, for ARMWRESTLING....ASK Marcio when he pulled MT in SoNo BBEAR a couple of yrs ago..

I see what everyone is saying and how it can apply to this theory of preparing for the specific format..but you can't try to tell me that Devon was testing waters on match one and three...just can't see that....not when he beat John 6-0 and everyone else for that matter..Todd wins best of three all day

Yeah, I wonder what would happen if Devon "worked out real hard" and got to 300 pounds. Would anyone even question who the best was? DITTO

This is silly, imo, devon won the supermatch. Period. He is the best. He would have strategized differently for a 3 round match, as anyone would. He planned for 6 rounds, michael planned for 6 rounds, neither planned for a 3 round supermatch. Devon is the man at the moment. Period.

I belives devon has not won all his matches . I tied him 3-3 exactly my point..he's king of 6 rounders but best of three is very questionable..Marathon vs sprinter theory
