He was for sure 179 Simon. I asked him one time how much he weighed a couple weeks before he first pulled 76's and he told me 180 and I didn't believe him so I brought a scale and weighed and he was 180 dressed lol

He doesn't diet so to speak as he has just been eating healthy for awhile now. Far as I know his weight hasn't been back above 182-183 in a couple of months. He normally walked around in the 180's most of the time even when he was pulling 98's

Many have tried Jake a much much smaller number have ever pulled it off. I have never finished lower than silver at the USAF nationals in my weight class for a reason.....
Pound for pound I am stronger than ever, and I am walking around in the low 190's now, carrying fat no question and eating a ton to stay up there.
To be completely transparent, I am at my best when I can pull a couple of days after weigh ins, so unless it is Nationals or Worlds I am likely just to pull up a class, at my age I know what my body does and does not do, so far I am able to manage around my injuries so if I can get more consistent with my training, (between work, family and the USAF board it has been tough) I will just keep getting better.

Simon, after pulling Chad at the tournament where would you rank his power level since you have some knowledge of some of the guys from other countries??? Your arms looked HUGE btw especially your forearm.

I know this sounds odd but I never felt any power from him, he very smartly created this grip where I could not get any of the back of his hand with a complete dead load so I could engage no back, no bicep, no lat no down pressure no hand pressure nothing, all things I need in my pulling,
Then he just tee'd off on my partially open hand, it felt like the difference between someone punching my hand and me trying to grab and stop the momentum of their fist vs. if you were already holding someone's fist and then they try push it through and you try to stop them, (normal armwrestling) does that make sense?
He was amazing no question but I cannot tell you much about his power because other than when I stopped him at the pad I felt nothing but a sweeping feeling. It was crazy.
That move all day long would baffle most of the pullers in the world. Thanks Johnny too bad I could not use any of that size against him, Chad was just too smart, too experienced and too fast.

I understand that breakdown. I can't ever tell because he is so much stronger than me.

Whoa--Simon, I'm not sure if you're insulting me or complimenting me. Your description of how I took your hand IS what arm wrestling's all about. My hand is so much bigger and thicker than yours, I don't think the straps would've helped. It sounds like you think I tried to avoid your power, which is not true. I never tried to top roll you, which is my weapon of choice. I gripped you low so I wouldn't dominate your hand and then I simply waited for the word, "GO." I didn't need my back pressure; your hand was already open. Honestly, I DIDN'T deceive you or manipulate you in the least---both matches were identical, under a second in length. It was fun...the bigger the challenge, the better I am. See ya'll at the Arnold! Chad

Simon, no offense im not as great as you but i saw 2 matches where Chad didn't even struggle with you. Arm wrestling is arm wrestling. He had a bigger, thicker, stronger hand and he has a lot more power than you. Furthermore if you watch both of the videos, Chad went inside into your power, not trying to cause trouble but the tape does not lie.

It was fun...the bigger the challenge, the better I am. See ya'll at the Arnold! Chad Sorry Chad see how confused you have me with this I struggle to explain it, no intention to insult you at all, I am sure there is a ton of power there but what I felt was my inability to put any pressure on the back of your hand I really could not close it tightly against you because of your grip approach, and trying to download to get more of it did not work because you offered no pressure in the set up. So there I sat feeling like I was half holding on, very loose with no idea how to improve it, so I tried the best I could with what I had. Then there was very fast hit to the top of the pad, at that moment down on the final edge of being pinned was the only time I felt like I had ahold of you but it was far too late and I was way too deep to do much. That feeling is far different to me than me being tied up with a person fully engaged and having them rip through me with their power, thus making it hard to answer Johnny's question. No disrespect intended Chad it was like nothing I had ever had happen to me, you were amazing in short. For Stump and Mike I will try to explain the difference in my experience, to be honest when I watched all of the videos of Chad pulling prior to this event I had a similar thought. Now having pulled him, and watching them frame by frame it feels and looks like more of a top hook than a drop hook (that is my power) but you are absolutely correct armwrestling is armwrestling and no matter what he did he whacked me both times, no question and no excuses. It is now my job to go figure out how to do something better with him, no question and it was not my intent to make any excuses he wrecked me for sure. I simply cannot really answer a power question for Johnny given that I never ended up in place dropped in with him such that I could offer any perspective on it.

I have been following this thread. I personally think Chad is unbeatable in USA under 176lbs. and he is in top four under 187lbs in USA again. I would like to see a Chad vs. Crazy George and Chad vs Engin match at 176lbs.

Steve Rau, Q. Meyez (spelling?), M. Selaris, James R. would be interesting to watch in final four
