Eric, I wonder if that lightbulb moment is just all too clear to everyone who tries armwrestling in a tournament for the first time. We seem to have trouble keeping newbies...
I personally don't see our sport getting there on it's own, but I think we'd be a great thing to piggyback on an already established sport.
Back on topic, pound for pound:
Chad Silvers
Historically: Engin Terzi - one of the best pound for pound pullers ever.

In the U.S Cory Miller
Internationaly Zoloev
Historically Engin Terzi or John brzenk
One arm pullups are one of the best ways to judge arm strength per pound of body weight. George Gaydardzhiev is ranked #3 in the world in the 60k class. I see 6 good pullups in the video before any editing, no way to know if he really did 12 in a row because of the change in camera angle.

Eric Baldino: if you like one arm pull-ups you might enjoy this video I found last year. Upon seeing he weighs 138-139 I thought to myself "get that guy on a AW table", perhaps there's potential.

I think that's an excellent point, Eric. Joe Public, at 6 feet tall and 225 pounds, knows he is a big strong guy, but he also knows he can't pull a firetruck down the street, especially for time. However, he has no idea that he would not be able to move the average lightweight armwrestler off center. Remember the first time you got on the table with a real armwrestler? That instant "light bulb moment" where you thought "this guy is STUPID strong. It doesn't even make sense." There was a show for a while called 'fight science' or something to that effect where they did 3D modeling of an athlete, used high speed cameras, etc, and then measured the kinematic forces produced / experienced to put it into perspective. Armwrestling would blow people's minds if they saw the breakdown of what is actually going on. John, a couple of my buddy's were on the "Sport Science" show ( and Fight Science) (Craig & Paul Pumphrey), Craig actually talked to the producers about getting some armwrestlers on the show to do just what you are talking about, but the producers didn't go for it

But it figures.
