I think the US needs to adopt the Iraqi version of "death row", that would give us all a nice tax break.

Exactly! We do indeed need to adopt their timely method. Not only a tax break, but also a deterrent for other crimes.
James, is that Carlos Hathcock in that photo?

I gotta be honest. Maybe its that i was raised by women.
I understand and respect the timely manner and aggrasiveness with this situation. And rejoice with you all as an american that this dictator was brought to justice.
Its just kinda hard to believe hes gone. I mean i wish it didnt have to come to this. He was guilty of crimes worthy of death and thats the bottom line.
but he used to have the support of the american people. He used to play in our movies. How can a man turn so far away that we rejoice in his death.
Sadly according to the word of God we are all worthy of death for our sin, and we will all face death for our sin. No matter how great the sins are in your life you will still suffer the death penalty. all of us.
He faced a just sentence for his crime. He paid his due. I would wish noone to rot in hell.

Because he was a man of his beliefs, and a fixture in our society is why it almost leaves us torn between to joy and rememberance. You were not raised by just a woman... You were raised by a good woman who taught you to have compassion for every living soul, good, bad or indifferent. We did not kill him, his people did for crimes against humanity, and just because his legend was larger than any dictator in many centuries does not mean we should not pray for his soul.

Ryan and Matl'e maybe you both are better people than I am. I can not begin to think how I could have remorse for such a man. Est. at one million people to die at his command, and to go quickly in the manner he did, I don't think he got what he deserved. I don't know you both or where you have been, but It's one thing to read or watch on tv what he did. It's another to look in the faces of the people he ruled and to hear the stories of the suffering they felt along with the torture their families and friends felt as they were coming closer their deaths. Like I said you two are better men than I, I know I will never forgive or forget.

We are not better men, just men who have learned our lessons on condeming another soul. We are not of god if we don't wish salvation on others. Jesus was the only matyr we will ever know and he died for our sins. Let he who created us be the judge of who shall rise or who shall fall. I respect Saddam much more for choosing not to wear the hood as is custom, and in my heart I want to believe that he did it so his victims could see his face in the end. We will never know if the man was truly insane, but the lord does and he will do what is fit for his soul.

Saddam was found guilty of killing 148 Shiite Iraqies in 1982 (after being attacked to be killed by Iraqy Shiites during Iran-Iraq war).when he did this crime he was being supported by USA with weapons to fight against Persians (Iran).
"650.000" civillian people died since the end of Saddam's dictatorship in Iraq,as the result of "operation Iraqy Freedom" which started because of "chemical&bioligical weapons" that have never been found.
Saddam was the same Saddam 20 years ago when he was friends with USA.no need to deceive ourselves,he has always been the same dictator then and when he was hunged by this morning.

I agree. Saddam has always been the evil dictator that he is now and this is well documented. I feel zero remorse for him and am glad he died for all the death and suffering he has caused others. I do feel for those who have suffured and watched loved ones being raped, tortured and killed. I feel horrible for the dad/mon who had to watch their pre-teen daughter being raped by multiple men on orders from Saddam. I also feel bad for the mothers who were holding thier babies while being gassed to death in the streets. This should of happened a long, long time ago.

I do not think we should be in Iraq if you want my opinion. However I think this man should have been removed from power. He got CONVICTED of 148 deaths. How many were tortured and died at his order? We will never know the real number. Did he or did he not use mustard gas on his people? If so do you think they used it all and never made more? I have never seen a million dollars but does that mean its not out there? You could bury anything out in those deserts of Iraq and never find it. Is it POSSIBLE theres weapons that were hidden? Last but not least, it's horrible of all those who have died in this war, I can only hope there can be peace there someday(I have friends there, Iraqis). My gut tells me that it may never happen, in my lifetime anyway.

i do not know if all the news have been showed to USA by Zionist media but here we watch similar things (raping-humilition-killing) happenning to Iraqy women and men very often by some of US soldiers too.
i do not think that at anytime of Iraq's history 650.000 people has been died in such a short time of period, not even when Saddam was supported by USA in all those years that he did crimes that was known by whole the world including by the "friends" of him.

Anthony,
believe me that Saddam being a dictator was better than what is happenning in Iraq now.that is true that he did crimes after the rebellions.my country has border with Iraq and i know well enough that Iraq has never been as bad as how it is now.Saddam had no chemical&bioligical weapons,it is a fact that even the starters of this war accept.he would have used these weapons before his country being occupied by US army.
everyday i watch news about over 100 civillian dies,Iraq has a difficult mix.there are two races and two different beliefs.Kurds and sunni Arabs are close about religious belief, and Sunni and Shiite Arabs are close because of race.but Saddam being a Sunni Arab created anger on Sunni Arab Iraqies by Shiite Arabs and Sunni Kurds.Shiite Arabs are close to Iran that is enemy of USA.Kurds at the northern Iraq wants to create their country while neither Turkey or Iran would ever let this to happen.so it is impossible to find a solution to make everyone happy in Iraq.

I He got CONVICTED of 148 deaths. . Anthony, do you know why this crime happenned? those 148 Iraqies that were killed by Saddam are Shiite Arabs who have been supported by Iran because of the same religious beliefs.in the Iran - Iraq war USA had supported Saddam against Iran and those people that have been killed by Saddam were found guilty because of trying to kill Saddam with the support of Iran during the war.so they were killed by Saddam because of being responsible of trying to kill an American ally at that time.
