I voted no. I wholeheartedly disagree with virtually everything he says, but he's entitled to his opinion, and this is the 'off-topic' board, so he's keeping it in the right place too. This is America, so he's free to make a fool of himself, and so are we.

Why is it out of line? ? He's asking a question.

so you think asking "would you vote a black man for president" isn't out of line? it's blatently discrimination

I haven't seen that post, Joe. Could you post where he said it? Thanks.
Now, before I read it, and me knowing Ryan as I do, I am assuming since there has NEVER been a BLACK person, nor a WOMAN in the Presidential position in this country, he is wondering what people's stances are in the matter.
I for one am not voting for Hillary nor Obama based on their views.
We in Louisiana, one term ago, had our very first WOMAN governor. It was a milestone that had been reached, thus would this if a BLACK person or a WOMAN were to get into the Presidential position.

If your asking me Joe. I don't find that line of questions out of line at all. It's just a question. Where you go with the answer is how people get in the murky waters. If you asked me and I told you that it's 2007 and the pigment of a persons skin doesn't influence my decisions in life but rather where they stand on issues that are important to me. Is that a bad line of Q&A??

Allen -
Ryan did not start a thread asking if anyone would vote for a black president. He started a poll asking if anyone would vote for a Mormon president. I think Joe is saying that is no different than him asking if anyone would vote based on color or gender. I personally think it's a totally different issue. A person's religion defines very much who he/she is. His/her religious stance will determine how he/she feels on a number of important and relevant political issues.

Brittany,
Thanks because I never did see where he posted that. But the way Joe put it, he said it by "quoting" Ryan.
You know, it is that type of assuming that has taken this racial issue, in this country, way too far by being way too sensitive.
Joe, Ryan is not smart (mean) enough to be a racist...
Hi Ryan!!!

I would not vote based on gender or race........but i would vote on religion.....as brittany said....religion defines who they are and they will respond on very important issues

BTW it was just a simple question......i was not being disrespectful in the least bit. I mentioned that my opinions on mormonism have not been hidden on this board...i have discussed it openly....and i like to think that i am still friends with them......this thread was not intended to offend anyone.......but i do find it humorous that those who are attacking me for the mot part dont know anything about either religion mormonism or christianity...... I think bill meanza hates me tho

Joe,
I appreciate that you are defending your friends of the Mormon faith. However, as aggravated as Ryan may have gotten you, I think his intention is to stir up dialog. By doing so, he gets people to share their ideas on faith. That's better than not talking....which has lead to the terrible secular society in which we currently live where anything goes and people are indifferent to God and righteousness.
Remember, Ryan and I have serious differences in what we profess. I just respect people who have the courage to talk about this stuff. It's important!
Hey, I'm also glad you started this thread. Stir the pot a little more. Get a little more dialog going.
See you in a few days...looking forward to your super match,
Bob
