Kevin Bongard finished second in Vegas this year behind Todd.
The next rankings update will be done in late September, following a number of large tournaments.

If ranked number 2, who should be ahead of him? There are lot of pullers currently ranked ahead of him that he hasn't pulled -- Todd H, Kevin B, Chad S, etc. and it his hard to justify ranking him above them right now. If I was to rank Rob number 2, where should Steve Rau be? Will Rob be competing at Mohegan Sun?

Rob's a tough guy to rank in this class -- he has some wins against pullers ranked higher than him, and he also has recent losses to pullers ranked lower on the list. He seems to do very well when people try to top roll against him, but not as well when someone forces a hook (e.g. losses against Steve Rau in May and losses against me in November). Arguments can definitely be made regarding why he should be ranked higher -- please let me know where you think he should rank, and why. Hopefully he and many of the top pullers will make it to Mohegan Sun so that I can sort this out.

Karen,
For the most part, our lists are pretty similar. With the exception of Nicole, we seem to basically be considering the same pullers. I believe that the top three women in the US right now are Mary, Cynthia, and Nicole in both the left and the right. Unfortunately Nicole did not attend the nationals this year so it is hard to determine exactly where she should rank, so I need to consider her most recent matches. The Florida State Championships from 2005 are a good example. I'll be the first to admit that these rankings are not perfect, but they do provide a picture of who the top pullers are. I do not expect everyone to completely agree with every single position.

Joe - Your drop to number 10 is primarily based on the information I find online. Usually only top 3 results are posted, so I dont always know who finished further down at a given tournament. It is very possible that I'm missing some information. At the can ams you took third behind the young russian and Tim Sears. Tim is getting strong, but I don't know that he's beaten any one else in the top 10. I'll agree that the rankings aren't perfect, and I want feedback to improve them. Can you tell me which of the pullers in the top 10 you've beaten in the past year, as well as who has beaten you? You can send me an email or a PM if you would like. If a correction is in order, than I will ensure that the rankings get updated.

Yes, these are the same rankings. They have now migrated to the PinArm site.
As far as I know, Jacob hasn't pulled any big tournaments since Mohegan Sun last August, so I can't know for sure how he would fare against the other pullers on the list right now. However, his last matches with Todd were pretty good and he hasn't been losing to anyone under 198 since then so I can't really justify changing his ranking right now. I'd love to see a James Smith/Jacob Abbott supermatch!

The PinArm rankings have been updated. A few pullers have recently moved up a class, so this has changed things around. You can view the rankings here: www.pinarm.com/Rankings/Rankings.htmFeedback is appreciated -- ideally on the PinArm message board so that it can be documented along side the rankings.

I don't think Final 6 will be possible. I'm pretty sure ESPN was only filming once the table was set up at the different location for the Final 4.

Who do you think will win the pro classes in Vegas? Because I have no idea which Europeans will show up, I'll base my predictions on North Americans I feel are likely to attend. Here they are:
154 right - Rick Soliwoda 154 left - Rick Soliwoda 176 right - Kenny Hughes 176 left - Kenny Hughes 198 right - Todd Hutchings 198 left - Todd Hutchings 242 right - John Brzenk 242 left - Marcio Barboza 243+ right - Travis Bagent 243+ left - Travis Bagent

Bryan is currently ranked just ahead of Dan because of his recent performances. Since the nationals, Bryan has won the World's Wristwrestling Championships as well as the Reno Reunion tournament. At both these tournaments he had wins over great competition, including Kenny Hughes. I agree that Bryan and Dan are likely very close right now.

For the 70kg class I look at the pullers who typically compete in the 143, 147, and 154 classes. I try to take into consideration who the various pullers have competed against and try to determine how they would fare against each other. If the 65kg class typically has more high calibre pullers, a puller who does well in this class may rank higher than someone who wins the nationals at 70kg (if there are just one or two people in the class). The purpose of my rankings is to determine who the best armwrestlers are, regardless of how often they compete (although they do need to have competed in the past 2 years). I may eventually change this to the past year. If a competitor shows up to a tournament just once a year and beats the best, then they should be listed high on my rankings.
