Devon will be 220 for the tournament. I should add that his record against Travis is 1 and 0 in the right (Niagara Falls, December 2002).

There’s a poll on the Canadian message board asking who will win the 3 out of 5 right-handed supermatch between Devon and Travis at The Mike Gould Classic on March 26th. Devon has been receiving most votes, but I am wondering how users of this board feel. In Canada, Devon has been pretty much unbeatable in right-hand tournament competition over the past few years. On the other hand, Travis’ right has been getting frighteningly powerful – his performance at the Arnold’s is a great example. What do others think? The Mike Gould Classic is shaping up to be a HUGE event. It’s Canada’s best tournament every year. It has everything going for it – BIG money in the pro classes ($1,000 per class, right and left), amateur classes, plus you never know who will show up! Hey Jeff,
I got to armwrestle Bill 3 times with the left during the tournament. I won my first match, but then he came back to beat me twice in the finals to take the class. Our last two matches were very similar. Both of them went into a hook and lasted close to a minute. I often had him on my side of the table but I just couldn't finish him. Both times he was eventually able to peel my wrist open. I don't know how he was able to do that after such long matches. I was just thrilled that I was able to give him some good pulls. I look forward to our next meeting.
Eric

Hi Josh -- Unforunately I won't be able to make it to the Can-Ams this year. However, I should be able to make it to Loon Mountain in April.

I'd like to invite everyone to THE BATTLE IN THE CAPITAL -- a big tournament I'm holding in Ottawa on November 6th. Full details can be found on the Maine home page, but here's the basic information:
There are pro and amateur divisions.
In each of the two divisions, there are three men's right hand classes, three men's left hand classes, and one women's right hand class.
The men's weight classes are 0-165 lbs (lightweight), 166-198 lbs (middleweight), and 199+ lbs (heavyweight). The classes are the same for both the right and left hand, as well as for the pro and amateur divisions.
The amateur classes are double elimination and there are trophies for the top three in each class.
The pro classes are TRIPLE ELIMINATION and there are cash prizes for the top five in each class (top three for the women's class).
The prizes for the men's pro classes are $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd, $150 for 3rd, $125 for 4th, and $100 for 5th. The cash prizes are the same for both the right and left hand classes.
The prizes for the women's right hand class are $250 for 1st place, $150 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd.
There will also be trophies for the best match of the day and for the most sportsmanlike competitor.
This is going to be a big tournament, and many of Canada's top pullers will be there. I'm hoping that some pullers from the Northeast will make the trip -- it'll be a great chance to pull some different arms. I know the caliber of pullers in the Northeast is high and I think there is the potential for a lot of interesting match-ups to take place.
If you've never pulled in a triple elimination tournament, it's great. I've pulled at a few of them in Quebec and had an awesome time. Not only do you get to pull more, but it makes for more accurate standings.
If large classes, lots of pulling, and good prizes appeal to you, please seriously consider making the trip to this event. You'll have a blast!
