I've done some research recently on State Armwrestling Championships. According to what I've found, every single state has had at least one event identified as a "State Championship" at some point in time over the past 40 years, with the exception of one. Which state has never held a State Armwrestling Championship?
I will provide the answer later this evening. If it turns out this state has in fact held a State Championship, I'd like to hear about when it happened.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
John C.: Al Turner was a very impressive puller. He could do crazy stuff like hold a one-arm chin-up at a 90 degree angle, while also holding a 75-lb dumbbell in his left hand! We'll eventually get a profile/biography up on Armwrestlers Only.
Derek: I won my weight class in the Visegrip Viking Challenge Grip Contest (under 198 lbs). It was a fun experience!

Thanks John.
Robin - I'm actually near finalizing a chronology of the top women through history (right arm) from 1964 to present. As for the left hand, I may develop a list eventually. It's important to note that these aren't "polls". Each of the articles I write are based on many hours of research and analysis, and there are many more things that I want to write about. I encourage anyone interested in a particular area of armwrestling history to do some exploration. I may be able to help direct to relevant sources of information.

It's really looking like 2014 is a good year to be an armwrestler! Wow!

Unfortunately, Sylvain will not be at this event.

Kenny was at the 1998 Redding event, where he took first in the pro 154 right class. I don't think he was at the 1996 Tahoe event (at least his name doesn't appear in the results).

That Reno Reunion event was in January 1999. It was the 151-175 pound class. Kenny took first, Allen took second.

Thanks Bill. You're right, there's no telling where armwrestling would be right now if it wasn't for Bill and Dave and what they managed to do with the World Wristwrestling Championship. It's incredible when you realize how many pullers and promoters were first exposed to the sport through the coverage on Wide World of Sports.
Dave will be featured in Part 2 of a planned four-part series I'll be writing on Petaluma.

I'm happy to provide the following article on the early days of the Petaluma wristwrestling. I've been searching for what seems like forever the results from these first events. I finally found them! It took a lot of effort and time, but now, for the first time ever, here is a detailed history of how the organized sport began... armwrestlersonly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/the-early-days-of-wristwrestling-in.html Enjoy!
