i appreciate the warning, but so far a week has proven just right for my pains to heal. i haven't gotten a chance to play with the big boys yet so my skinny ass hasn't recieved the super heavy duty royal punishment! you'd definately be right if that was the case, but i still have a little bit of rubber left in my bones and joints

Saturday's almost here, and that means it's time to get in on what is quite possibly the only practice in town. Two tables, free weights and a pulley system, beer on ice (and water), and music. Give youself time to heal after this one. Tahoe is just around the corner. Hope to see you here!

the majority of rationally thinking Americans know that it was nothing more than a political stunt and a slap in the face to those who've EARNED the prize in the past. what had obama hussein done to earn it? ever since he's taken office, this country has been on a violently downward spiral. we've been in a "race to the bottom" and promoting "trickle up poverty." they gave him the award to make the sheeple believe he was a success story, instead of the trainwreck that is his presidency. what a joker...

you are 100% right, dixon. unfortunately, money does always win. it always has in the past. what will change this trend for future generations??? what can we do to stop this ugly reality? sadly, there aren't enough of us with the balls and the determination to make it happen. not yet.

i understand your view, dixon. but i feel that an organizations manufactured truth (or their percieved/ conveyed truth) is still not truth if indeed it is not actually true in the defining sense of the word. i totally get your point, though. they make their own truths. it's up to us as responsible citizens to question the legitimacy of their words through the merritt of their actions.

You pretty much got it...i just dont have respect for someone that makes it harder to get health care, strip SSI from our parents and us!! I guess ill start my own thread about our great president I agree with you on the health care and identity theft nonsense. The only difference with me is I look at the puppet master, not the puppet for the cause. The president is nothing more than a figure head to distract us from the people that REALLY pull the strings. The system is PERFECT. As soon as the people....cough...cough....sheep get fed up or sick of the puppet (every 4-8 years), they bring in another one. While the entire time no one bothers to look behind the curtain. i see you've done your homework. most of Americans today are way too naive, or dare i say, old school to believe our government could be capable of such catastrophic behavior. Or, they're so dependant on government subsidies that they dare not deviate or inquire. nobody wants to rock the boat. the information is all out there for anybody to research. they just have to pull their head out of their ass long enough to do it. anybody who is willing can research American government corruption against it's own citizens throughout our entire history. and it's only gotten worse. i have actually coined a phrase that helps me describe the people who refuse to believe what is really going on - "Dismissal is the most prevalent form of ignorance." KF 2011. great post(s) Mr. Kaufman.

rent an economy car and carpool with other pullers/ split the bill. it can usually end up being pretty affordable and you'll have company.

oops...i forgot to mention mr. bill collins in my ual rant. it's thanks to bill, robert and neil, and their vision of a global armwrestling alliance that i believe armwrestling WILL go to that next level that so many have seemingly been trying to achieve.

i gotta agree with mr rick latton on this one. i'll start be adding the fact that i'm still a "newb" , but i think i know enough to have an educated opinion on the topic. armwrestling is a sport. it seems like there's always alot of pullers frustrated at the fact that armwrestling gets no mainstream love. no recognition. which is also one of (if not the) leading reasons there is no money in it. granted, there's scattered events from time to time that pay, but nothing consistent. at best i think it's safe to say that you definately aren't going to make a living off of it. now, there's the old school guys who can sometimes seem like they don't want it to ever get out of the bar, the backyard or the fairgrounds. period. and that's fine for them. but, i believe that the majority of armwrestlers today are chomping at the bit to be able to turn on espn on a weekend and watch an armwrestling highlight reel or even possibly themselves in a hot match that got aired. who knows? what i see from the ual is a powerhouse of an organization that has the drive, determination, and the means to take this sport to that level. if not them, who? don't get me wrong - i know there's hella other legues out there whom have been around the block and are developed, organized, and efficient. however, i don't see any other organizations promoting and grinding and getting "in your face" about armwrestling like the ual has been. maybe it's because i'm in california, but you know what, people who thought armwrestling was just a mythical passtime now know about it and may even engage in the sport simply because the ual has put it out there for everyone to see. and their venue's - who else is doing it big like them? no offense to anyone, and please don't take my comments the wrong way (afterall, i'm just a newb). but from where i can see, the ual is coming up fast! mr robert drenk and mr neil pickup are teamed up and shooting for the sky. it's a business. they gotta make money to be able to pay out those tempting purses at their tournaments. i didn't use to have to pay for the water i was using in my home. things changed, now i have to pay for it. but hey, i still use it! (lame example, i know - but most free services aren't free forever).
