I couldn't find any of that stuff either on facebook.
Sounds okay to me only 2 hours away but sounds like an awful lot of weight classes to me for a first time event and to have both open and novice?? you really think you will fill all those classes? I mean I hope so of course but experience may tell me otherwise.
I've never heard of Mark Bossowski.
Is there going to be any prize money? If so, how is it working. To be honest, a lot pullers are trying to show interest, but from the way this is being presented, it appears to possibly be an unorganized mess.
I'm not going to drive 2 hours each way unless I know what is happening and know I can at least win my gas and entry fee money back.

Tim B again. Can anyone tell me if a puller places 9th and there is a puller ahead of him that has already quallified is he able to go to New Orleans In Atlantic City, Karen Bean said the answer to this was maybe but nothing has been decided yet. The other thing to consider is say 20-25 guys are on that list and then 4 or 5 decide not to go for whatever reason. She said athletes would receive a phone call if they decided to do this. The other thing that has not be specificaly clarified on the website is say a puller qualified in a certain weight class will be they be allowed to go up or down in weight or do they have to weigh in at the same weight. I'm sure they will clarify this soon.

WAL pullers...just thought I would post this here. If anyone is cutting weight and is looking for a sauna Thursday night and/or Friday. This gym has both a dry sauna and a steam room and is open 24 hours a day. It is located 10 miles from the boardwalk tournament location. Tilton Fitness 3022 Hingston Ave. Egg Harbor Twp, NJ 08234

This is always another awesome reason to attend this event. Food is great and we always get a great turnout! See everyone there in a few weeks...hopefully I'll be all healed up from WAL by then.

Ask your friend,
1) Who is running this event? 2) Who is reffing? 3) Is there both right and left handed? 4) Is there prize money and/or awards? 5) What is the entry fee per class? 6) Is 11am the start time of the tournament or the start time of weigh ins?
Thanks.

Thank you Bill, in addition to the behavior at the event I thought that the general idea of him hosting at tournament advertised as "PA State Championships" two weeks after the Erie team held the PA State Championships was uncallled for and disrespectful making almost a mockery of our state titles here in PA.
Sue has the PA winter blast in Northeast Philadelphia each year and last year we had over 100 entries, the biggest we've seen in the past 5 years. It is the only event I consider to truly to be "local" to my area held each year. I highly encourage all the out of staters to continue to support Sue's event in Philly each year in March as southeastern PA is very lowly represented in terms of events and number of pullers that actually train reguarly.

October 18 Jeff Janes is running a benefit tournament for St. Jude November 8 is KY muscle....
I would stay away from these dates out of courtesy to the promoters who posted their events in a timely manner and opt for December 6....as that could give you more time to promote your tournament.

I never played competitive sports in high school (football, wrestling, etc) I worked out but never really stood out athletically. I played little baseball sure but that doesn't count.
Outside of my professional life (teaching math) it gives me a sense of purpose something to strive for do better at.
I don't really have an interest in things normal adults do AT ALL: Buying a house, Settling down, relationships, getting married, having kids, etc. I'm 30 and I still feel like none of things will EVER happen nor do I feel I want them. So this keeps me busy and side tracked from the boredom I would have otherwise.
I want to be the best at something. That also explains why I like working out in the gym, benching. I was also pretty good at arm wrestling when I was younger (bar style) so I figured why not give it a shot.
I'm an adrenaline junkie. The 1-1 on competition there's nothing like it.
I enjoy travelling and meeting up with my armwrestling "family." I have very few friends in my local area. When the weekend comes, I crave to get out of town. Sure it costs a lot but note 2 paragraphs above.
I can measure my progress by how well I'm doing from year to year.
The sport helps me control my weight and live healthier. If I didn't make to make weight on a certain date I could be 260 or more by now. In 2010 I was up to 240 before I made a commitment to eventually getting to 198 classes. This never would have happened without armwrestling.
Those are the reasons.

No he isn't computer literate.
Look Nitro thinks his crudeness is actually funny and okay. He doesn't get it. These events are an hour and half from my house and used to be fun starter tournaments for me and even when the turnouts weren't as good, I went up until about a year ago and gave them plently of chances.
But in the past year I have stopped attending, becuase the quality of competition has gone down, the touranments take 5-6 hours with 20-30 guys and there have been times when they didn't even have any food for sale when the place opened and then I started hearing stories like this.
Every once in a while it is necessary to combine a class or two at a tournament, but saying something like that on a mic is unprofessional and not acceptable especially when directed at guests and new pullers who drove 3-4 hours to attend an event.

I'm very sorry to hear that your team was treated in this way. These events used to be decent and well attended 7-8 years....attendance has been down in recent years...I wonder why...people have to right to decide which events to attend and which not to attend.
I wasn't there either........
