Just to clarify: I had a post which asked why the two organizations can't just agree on the same weight classes. I suggested politics as a half joke half serious answer. I then deleted the post because I was afraid that it would be interpreted as an attack on somebody. I thought I deleted it before anyone saw it but apparently Elaine had already responded to it and I didn't notice. Sorry for the confusion Elaine.

Thank you, Steven!!! I knew it was late, but I knew what I read! I didn't find out until talking to someone today that you could actually delete a post... so I figured you may have done that. I didn't think that you were attacking anyone with your "politics" comment... you were just asking a question about something that you may not have had an answer to. No big thing as far as I was concerned. Anyway, thanks for clarifying what happened. I can sleep at night now! (or not...) seems there are a few of us 'night owls' on line at the same time every night. Of course, you are up WAY later than I am!

As said before 3 classes is ridiculous
So someone 200 lbs needs to put on 50 pounds to have a chance with you travis?
You know for a fact your not the same puller at 260 as you are at 285, or certainly 240 or 220.
You weighed 200 4 years ago are you much stronger now ?
Case CLOSED !!!!!!!!!

wHERE DOES THE NOTION THAT 2OO pounds difines a heavyweight. There are obvious huge differences in strength for the masses ( not a few good men) every 20 pounds or so. Less then this when you a very light and more then 20 when very heavy .
But either way 3 weight divisions would bring a massive decline to a sport that needs building.
Id be in favor of 231 or 242 and over as it is, but also think that there is merit for 255 ( with the 231) or 265 with the (242). More inclined 231 and 255 are great cutoffs. You get a big 220 pounder at 231 a slimed down 215 pounder at 198 and an in shape heavy weight at 255. then you got Supers and there are many of those still.
Side note Personally i dont think anyone would beat Ron Bath if he blew up to 260 or more . But Ron prefers to stay healthy keep his weight in line with the rest of his life. Weight classes ...Weight classes ...Weight classes .... YES

Hey best I just got my life back on track, everything is almost back to normal now inculding my weight . Right now I am 178 wich is just about right for me. But that means I would have to pull 198's light or try to suck down to 165. I am not crying, just trying to make a point that some one will allways be screwed with weight class just a fact of life. We should all spend more time training then watching our weight. Just get soooo f-kn strong it dosen't matter.

ADJUST YOUR WEIGHT ACCORDINGLY TRAVIS ?? WHY SHOULD A NATURAL 220-230 POUND MAN NEED TO GAIN 40 UNHEALTHY POUNDS TO COMPETE WITH THE BIGGEST GUY'S? AS FAR as for me im not whining Im heading for 200 like the old days, but still why should say a Ron Klemba, James Smith ,Steve Black,Bill Ballinger,Mike Ohara, Scott Chemiluski,Mark Orapallo, JUST TO NAME A FEW. have to pull Sinks, selearis, bongard, Myers, Rau, Retarides, Lasorsa , Abbott, Hutchins etc.. to name a few Why should James Horne Mike Todd, Bowling,Tom Nelson, etc.. have to compete with you Randall etc..

We all remember the Petaluma days when 200lbs ..WAS HEAVYWEIGHT. clay Rosencrans, John Brzenk, all were both 200 when they had to pull againgst the likes of cleve dean, Virgil, Jerimiah christian ect.. I think it is great that there are so many more classes to allow all the non pro atheletes to compete. Travis at 275 lbs in the 200 over class, it would take a John Brzenk to beat him! not too mant under 200 lbs would even want to pull the Beast!! ( ok, I said not too many..But SOME would)

Guy, check the top 10 armwrestlers in NORTH AMERICA...
5 of the top heavyweights in the world weigh just 220.. Brzenk, Bath, Barbosa, Larrett, Sylvain Perron..... These guy's are heavyweights and not crying..
Hell if you wiegh 200, you should pull 198lb class....
Amateur contest should keep 8 or 10 classes, but pro should be condensed into 3 classes.......
This sport needs a "major league" for the top guy's to be marketed and glorified...... And so the lower athlete's have a goal to reach......
Example - pop warner, high school, and college football are successful because of the dream of the NFL............
