"have you guys seen Roman's,Rustam's,Zoloev Hadzimurat's and Taras' legs? they sure did not need huge legs to be the best armwrestlers in the World, but they have skinny legs"
Exactly. Look no further than the world of professional cycling, and the Tour De France. Check out the arms of the cyclists on the podium at the end! If making wt isn't an issue, have at it!

Keep them huge...like the previous post said: The bigger the foundation, the bigger you can build. The more strength you have anywhere, the better!!! JMO Chris, make them even bigger and you will be incredibly strong in the superheavyweight class are we talking about armwrestling or another sport here? have you guys seen Roman's,Rustam's,Zoloev Hadzimurat's and Taras' legs? they sure did not need huge legs to be the best armwrestlers in the World, but they have skinny legs.any armwrestler who competes at the world level knows that bigger legs will put them in a higher weight category.would i wanna put 11 pounds of muscle on my arms, shoulders and back or on my legs to be more succesful (if i wanted to pull one class heavier)? i am sure that all the World champion athletes of WAF will choose to gain weight on upper body if necessary. I agree Engin, I don't want any part of the super's anymore. I tried that at Nationals a couple years ago and got waxed. Right now I'm trying to find the weight class that I can be most competitive in. Bob, I do agree that by working your legs you will get bigger and stronger all over. The only problem with how I'm built is if I do work my legs, I put on a ton of weight only on my legs. Last time I decided to start doing squats and deadlifts again, I put on 10 pounds in no time. Right now not very useful for what I'm trying to achieve. ;D

I have a guy at my gym that use to powerlift at like 143 or something. He is 165 now at about five feet tall and has arms around 19 or 20 inches. I am trying to get the guy to come to practice...his forearms are massive.

[/quote] I prefer naked karate in the mirror like dirk diggler ;D ;D The good thing about armwrestling is it doesnt matter how big your arms are ,just how strong they are. Big doesnt always mean strong

The biggest arms / smallest legs I have ever seen are Oleg Chegodeyev from kazakhstan. At 100kg his upper body looks bigger than any man in the entire contest. But I have also see him fall down on the ground when his grip slipped because his upper body weighs so much more than his lower. He had a lot of trouble maintaining balance every time somebody hit him hard. I also believe his hit suffers because legs and hip are a tremendous factor in a good hit to the side. Granted, I don't think your hit gets better and better as your legs get bigger. Obviously there is a point where you have all the strength / explosive power you need and getting bigger doesn't help.
To me, the biggest struggle in this sport is trying to get as big and strong as you can without jumping up into a class where your frame is simply too small from a mechanical standpoint. I think past 100kg your body frame does not matter much because a 260lb man and a 220 pound man are not terribly different in the size of their frame. But at 165lbs (and lean) your frame is not going to match a man who weighs 260 lbs and is also lean.
Just my opinion. There are some pullers out there who can beat anyone, regardless of size and weight and they are world champions because of it. We can name those guys because they are so rare: Engin, Craig Tullier, Cobra, and a bus load of Russians who seem to grow out of the ground each year.
