I am going to throw a name out (though it would be hard to predict what would happen if he pulled against modern competition). Mac Batchelor enjoyed armwrestling (supposedly never lost...but again, who did he pull) but performed amazing feats of strength, some implausible. The only reason I bring him up is because Halls of Fame are supposed to be inclusive of people from all eras.

I think it should be a noted which LEGENDS were dominate at a world class level with both hands, which is a HUGE feat. Bagent for example would have to be noted as the best Superheavy with both hands. Everyone agrees Johns the best of all times and the best right handed puller but shouldnt it be noted whose the best with both??

Think of it like this Johns right and Bagents(an in shape Travis) right are in the same league(as in Travis is able to get some wins on John). But Bagents left is way more dominate than Johns left. So in a right and left supermatch with two in shape pullers odds on John winning are not good. So whose the more dominate, well rounded puller? I just think that should be noted if were are making serious choices on whose the best.

Before crowning Travis, let him pull with Denis! Denis seems to be as dominant as Travis is with his left. He's also one of the strongest guys with his right arm.

True and youd know much better than me Christian, unfortunately I havnt got to see many of Erics pulls since theres not alot of film thats pre 2000 around. Do you agree that dominate both handed pullers should be recognized in a separate class?

with left Eric has won WAF in 1996 over Mike Gould (2-1) but with right he lost to 18 years old Alan (who didnt pull lefty). then following year lost to 19 years old Alan Karaev in 1997 WAF (right and left).Eric was considered to be the one of the best left hander between 96-2000.his right was very good as well but was not super as John and Ron beat him everytime i saw them pulling.in 1997 WWC 194 pounds Jason Vale beat him in Petaluma.he lost to Javahadze in 1998 golden bear and in 1999 & 2000 WWC.
so he was considered to be best lefty but was not as good as the best right handers in the world.
Rustam is the best right & left hand puller ever.then comes Germanus and Roman when we judge by their successes.i believe John is also one of the best right & left hand pullers ever.he is the greatest with right in unlimited weight class, and he sure has done great things by beating some tough heavyweights with his left as well.but who has been better than him in his weight with left arm in a dominant way? has he not beating Oncescu (WAF champ) in Zlotys?

btw,Travis is the best lefty ever (which will be approved when he will pull Cyplenkov). but Travis' left is not as good as John's right.

James Restarides: If you're interested in reading about Mac Batchelor, here's a link to some interesting info--http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/blog/labels/Mac%20Batchelor.html
Another oldtime strongman who may have been an outstanding arm wrestler in the 175-198 class was Arthur Dandurand, who at 180 pounds had 16-inch forearms and could one-arm deadlift around 450 pounds. I don't have to tell you, that takes a lot of grip (lol). Jimmyvan

hi Christian,
i respect your opinion.i was thinking that the subject was about the greatest armwrestlers in the history,so i felt like i needed to compare with the World's greatests since Travis was mentioned by Josh and Travis is a World's great same as Eric was with his left.
but even in N.American greats subject..dont you think that Travis has given serious challenges to John with right arm.he even has wins over John.Travis in his prime was better than Devon (it wasnt Devon's prime though)and Ron,while Ron was better than Eric with right arm.i dont remember Eric being a serious threat to John with right arm.so that is why i think that Travis is not only a great N.America level right but he is also a World level great with right arm.while Eric was very very good right hander but was not really at the level of greatest right arms in N.America.
Travis has wins over John,Voevoda,Girdner,Larratt,Bath,Pushkar and many other great names, which makes him amongst the best right handers in the World.
