seriously if we start listing greats then there are more than 50 pullers in that category.
Guy Lasorsa,Dave Hicks,Michael Selerais,Chad Silvers ... i mean if i seriously think about it then i could list 100 pullers from different categories.i believe that "GREATS" and "LEGENDS" can be categorised even by weight classes such as light weight-middle weight and heavyweight.
anyone who has been one of the best deserves to be called amongst "GREAT".
Travis-Cyplenkov-Karaev-Woelfel-Osmanli-Pushkar-Binnie-Kotchiev-Bortalato-Espey (if i did not forget some other big names) are the best left handers in the unlimited weight class.all are great pullers but amongst them only Travis deserves to be mentioned as a left hand Legend as far as now,JMO.

i guess in order to choose the legends of armwrestling a clear definition of legend should be established...
In most sports a legend is defined by being a top performer over a lengthy career, accomplishing many significant individual awards and achievements. Also it is a person who performs best in the face of adversity, reaching down deep and overcoming the odds. its a performer who saves their best for when its absolutely necessary....with that said
I think, john, cleve,allen fisher, steve stanaway,dave hicks, earl wilson, and even engin fit this mold, im sure i missed a few others,
The rest are all greats guys like voevoda, goodridge,norton, travis, devon, etc, although travis and devon still have time to achieve legendary status...

dont you think that Travis has given serious challenges to John with right arm.he even has wins over John.Travis in his prime was better than Devon (it wasnt Devon's prime though)and Ron,while Ron was better than Eric with right arm.i dont remember Eric being a serious threat to John with right arm.so that is why i think that Travis is not only a great N.America level right but he is also a World level great with right arm.while Eric was very very good right hander but was not really at the level of greatest right arms in N.America. Travis has wins over John,Voevoda,Girdner,Larratt,Bath,Pushkar and many other great names,which makes him amongst the best right handers in the World. Thats what I was thinking and I think its VERY RARE to be dominate with both hands at that level and it should be recognized. Rustam and Roman for example should be recognized in that separate category aswell for their talent BOTH handed at that level. Would you agree Engin? |
