So your sayin its impossible to be a good person without religion? No sir. I think that it is entirely possible to be a "Good or even Great" person without religion. But good or even Great is not "Perfect" and therefore will NOT get you into heaven when you die. No one who is less than Perfect will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only by Jesus Christ's shed blood can a person who has sinned be made "Perfect" again.

I thought I answered this earlier today but didn't see it so I guess it didn't go through.
No. I do NOT dislike all non-religious people. The first person that came to my mind when I read this question was Travis Bagent. His is a self described "NON RELIGIOUS PERSON". I think the world of Travis. It's kind of hard for me to be around him for long periods of time due to his language. I have asked him to tone it down a little when I am around and I think that he has tried to do just that. I just take Travis in small doses and try to tell him a little at a time what I believe in and why I believe it. I do believe at some point and time in his life he will come around to see it the same way I do. He is a very smart man and it is IMPOSSIBLE not to like Travis. He is infectious to say the least. Hope this answers your question.

Although iam spirtial and do believe my loved ones that have past watch out for me daily. I just dont believe in religion of any kind. The dispute we were having earlier is can you be a good person without faith? I say yes because i know iam a decent human with or without religion. Mike, that is an interesting quote. Why do you feel that your past loved ones are watching over you and where do you believe they are watching over you from? If there is no God and no Heaven or hell, the basic thought is that when we die we just cease to exist. I think that you believe more in God and Heaven than even YOU think that you do. I think that as humans we tend to "Make the story up the way that best suits our needs." It looks like you want to feel like your family is dead but not gone forever. It also looks like it is easier for you to not believe in God because that would mean a change in your life that you are not willing to make right now. Your life sounds a little like John Brzenks armwrestling strategy right now. You are choosing the easiest path of least resistance.

Rick, i have 3 kids, two of which are in wheel chairs, maybe i have some animosity, i completely except your reply and you are or maybe right. Your life sounds a little like John Brzenks armwrestling strategy right now. You are choosing the easiest path of least resistance. That is a tough one. I have dealt with my spinal cord injury pretty well but I don't think I could promise I would deal with one to my children nearly as well. I do think that all things happen for a reason. My being in a wheelchair has actually been a really good thing. I am closer to my wife and children for it I know. If I could get up and be well tomorrow I would jump right up but I would NOT go back to my old way of thinking and acting. Heading to bed. Have a great night !!!

Alright, another question.. i live in killeen a big part of fort hood, many people here have been to the middle east in combat. I have a very good friend of muslim decent and everyone treats him like he has a bomb strapt to him!! Is that ok?? Dude loves all people and yet he is persicuted 24 hours a day around here with the dirty looks, people tryin to fight him.. some might say its a racial issue, i feel its its both religion and racial, cus around my parts people think all muslims are against us ( which is both race and religous issues) which i DO NOT believe is the truth. Gotta love how the media influences how people feel, ESPECIALLY the simple minded. I would throw that under a political issue. If you break it down to the beginning it would probably have started as a religious issue, then political, then racial based off of the political propaganda.

There are only 3 monotheistic religions in the world. Judaism Christianity Islam Most other religions we can automatically dismiss as a nut job cult. Christianity stems from Judaism. Jewish and Muslim scholars both claim one comes from the other. So if I were to say that I was a believer in Norse or Greek religion of polytheism then I would be a nut job? You may say that's just silly, but to me it's no more silly than the stories of Christianity, Islam, or Jusaism. ;D

here goes I was raised Christian and had the "word" brainwashed into my head and givin to me as fact. I was away from the church for about 5 years and then as an adult went back to the church of christ and read and learned more than I ever had before, so much that it actually pushed me further from god or religion. Some of the things I found were so un christ like yet are being taught as truth. Now nobody spear me but......I think the bible is a great shot at trying to keep people in check and give them something to fear so they dont go crazy raping and killing each other, and IMHO nothing more Don't get me wrong I believe there is something bigger than us out there, perhaps GOD but I dont believe if he wanted to save us from our sins he would have to create a "son" and then give him up as a sacrifiec for our sins, ....I mean hes god right so he can snap his fingers and presto no more sin I also wanna ask this question, is our world better or worse for religion, I mean the majority of wars that have happened in our world were started because of religion right? religion does keep people in check to a certain extent but it also seems to breed alot of hate I respect anyones beliefs whatever they are and could care less if you pray to the moon that is your right and no one should be able to stop you from believing in whatever it is you believe, we are all on this planet togather and I think the sooner we all start excepting that we are more the same than we are different the better off we will be No spear here, pretty daggum close to my opinion. I've hammered on here in debate on the "who is God" and after 22000 posts... There was never a clear answer besides "he just is and you have to believe" It's a real good book to hold up all these years.....lol TK

There is far more proof physically, logically and historically for the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob than there is or ever was for the nonsense of the father of Hercules. So yes you would be a nut job. I watched a documentary the other day "the nature of existence" it was very interesting to see sooo many people discuss their different faiths. Some of them had solid arguments for what they believe..... Most were freaking idiots and borderline mental cases.

from a believer's side i do not have a problem with anyone who disbelieve as long as he does not have a problem with my belief.according to my belief GOD could have made everyone believers if HE wanted,so if HE gave everyone a free will & choice then who am i to have a problem with this? also again according to my belief every believer can become a none believer and every none believer can become a believer.so as a believer my duty to hope everyone to believe instead of hating anyone.again according to my belief anyoe who hates the creature also hates the CREATOR.we should not hate anything except sin,Just My Belief. very well put

I'd be willing to bet that people back then believed just as strongly, if not more so, in their Gods as you do in yours. The only difference is that time and Science has disproved the Gods of old. Personally, I believe that the current religions were FABRICATED so that they wouldn't be disproved.....yet. ;D So would it be reasonable to assume that there our current God could be looked at like the Gods of old someday? That all the followers would be looked at as nutjobs?

I guess that would be your opinion if you think I'm a nut Job because I believe what I believe. You have the right to that opinion.

We have had discussions, disagreements and disputes. We differ in our beliefs. Can you honestly say that I'm a nut job because of what I believe? FTR I didn't say everyone that believes differently are nut Jobs. I said that the majority of these belief systems are nut job supported.
