I disagree. An arm break is not the only injury that can occur from pulling someone significantly stronger than you. My left arm is much weaker than my right, I am pulling open classes with it. Since I am somewhat uncoordinated with my left, I would not say that just because I know how to avoid an arm break-I can stay out of compromising positions. Last year at KY Muscle, when a high calibur puller hit and pinned me, I felt I had almost broken my forearm bone. I simply don't understand the sentiment to rush people along. It's their money and body, let them manage it as they so choose. Obviously, there are some who need to be pushed a little. Those few guys who still find enjoyment in slamming beginners. I guess they deceive themselves into thinking they are actually accomplishing something.

I can't stand to see a cocky prick whose been pulling for 5-10 years get on a table with an obvious weakling and slam him and then walk away so proud like he did something......
Like when I get to pull Travis for first time. I know he's a novice and not on a need to contact list. So I will hold position make sure he's in a safe position and safely bring him to the pad. Then I will walk away calmly not as if I accomplished anything. But because it was suppose to happen that way.

my personal feeling on this is left and right needs to be kept separate, I strongly disagree. Novice means "im at risk to injury due to lack of experience" Should not mean "I'm not strong enough to pull open" Should not mean "I'm not talented enough to pull open" If you are experienced enough to not break you right arm, then you are experience enough to not break your left arm. JMO Ryan in the past year and a half I have seen 2 breaks neither of which came from being in the armbreak position. Fact is novice pullers often can be in a safe position but when the flow of direction stops they will begin pushing from the shoulder and this cannot be detected by a ref, the other thing to consider is the opponant changing direction and forcing your arm backwards. If a puller is naturaly strong with on hand and not with the other why should they be rushed along to get there ass handed to them in the open class, this is the reason there are so many pullers who dont pull both hands because they feel they are just throwing their money away and cant learn from being flashed by some cocky pro who wants to make himself look good. Also there are specific cases where a puller may have a disability with one arm or the other but wants to have a good time, I think giving him that time in the novice class should not be an issue. we are not only trying to get people out of the novice who do not belong there but also to make the novice class more competetive for the ones who do. Making new pullers feel they have a fighting chance will go a long way toward them staying in the sport.

Dont know bout the straps......LUCKILY......but every match we had, which was prob 5 or more, we had to have a refs grip cuz travis kept lookin into my red contacts havin flashbacks of something & he would try & jerk me across the table for a kiss. I was like hey dude, save that for florida, we dont play that in tn......lol He then dazed off like he was daydreaming on a florida beach, just long enough for me to sneak a few good hits in on him...........life is good !!

Good Job Man, try to keep your lat a little closer to your elbow this will help you close the deal a little quicker not to mention give you more control, I will say that guy in the blue hat was pulling from what looked to be an arm break position in every match(shoulder completely turned away from the table, not looking at his hand), somebody should warn him or he is going to get hurt, thanks for the videos
