On average $3k per puller. I'm all for having Team USA's trip to WAF paid for each year but, should it be priority #1? My biggest goal in the sport is to win a WAF title but, should our biggest goal be to find a way to advance our sport? Like someone mentioned earlier in this thread WAF doesn't seem to attract new sponsors or cause fast advancement of arm wrestling. So coming up with ideas for us pullers to support (pay for events) that will get more attention should be our first priority. Well I think people like robert drenk and neil pickup are working that side of it, personally I am not really big on a push for the olymipics, the olymipics has many many many sports not many of which has much more popularity than armwrestling......can anyone name a pro pole vaulter, or a high jumper, or a speed skater? What are the major benefits of an olympic movement, legitimacy? I think anything that gets more people to unifieds is a plus .......as far as increasing popularity of the sport, it has to be a show and it has to be put in front of an already existing audience....charging people to get in to an event has been tried and failed.....put a supermatch in front of 15000 people in between periods of a hockey game showcase the product and hand out the websites and you will see a big rise in interest, repeat........the nashville preds have local talent on stage in between periods ...surely someone like robert or neil can get our guys in front of that crowd.......not just hockey but anywhere there is already a crowd, we can't bring the crowd to armwrestling but surely we can bring armwrestling to the crowd Sent from my DROID2 using ProBoards ...1972 olympic pole vaulter Mikheal Boris Longshaft...he won the bronze...lmfao!

Gooood stuff. These are the kind of ideas this post was originally intended for... I'll have time today to print and compile all of these suggestions and, hopefully, move in a direction that puts them in action.
If anyone else would like to give their 2 cents, please do.
We are brainstorming ideas that would financially boost our sport. These monies would support competitors traveling to worlds, nationals, and, possibly the Olympics. Other suggestions would be to pay for advertising state/local/national tourneys on tv and newspaper.

Will they use WAF rules this year for Unifieds? Just wondering.

David Owens Jr. is just a fan of the UAL just like me and many others... I do have a question for you Mike.... You said you would "love to be able to support the UAL" what do you have against them?

Will they use WAF rules this year for Unifieds? Just wondering. They always use WAF rules at Unifieds. My opinion on this particular subject is that rules for the majority of tournament armwrestling should be the same. However when you put something on TV or out for public viewing, it must be entertaining or no one will watch. Some rules would need to change.

It wont do anything different to this sport.....I dont see many Curling Tournaments going on in the U.S. And even if Armwrestling DID make it to the Olympics, what then??? I will predict alot of jealousy for any of our Americans that will be chosen to compete....same thing that goes on now, but at a larger scale. Armwrestling is a great and exciting sport, but having this sport in the Olympics wont change a single thing... For example......There is over a thousand members on this board alone.....and on a day to day basis, ONLY 15 to 20 members actually post or create new threads...this is a perfect example why this sport in particular is where it is....We have a LARGE group of men and women that love the sport, that will drive to compete, but thats it... Nothing more and nothing less...... there are ALOT of sports out there that are not in the Olympics....and they are VERY successful....they have a huge fan base and they generate ALOT of sponsors and money. I hear "I WANT I WANT I WANT" But thats it, there is no doing. what is on everyones mind is success for this sport and a spotlight on the top pullers in our Nation. Robert Drenk and Bill Collins the UAL made some HUGE breakthroughs with this sport.....But Hardly any of you made the trip to support it...UAL Tahoe was a HUGE event that could have changed EVERYTHING in this sport...But No one was there....so I think the real Question isnt Why isnt Armwrestling in the Olympics.......I think the real question is why isnt there more armwrestlers supporting this Sport? Been a while since I posted, but I am curious: Mac, why do you think that only 15-20 people are left posting on this board?

Been a while since I posted, but I am curious: Mac, why do you think that only 15-20 people are left posting on this board? I would love to hear the answer to this question I mean I hear over and over from people like pete milano and christian binnie how bad this board has become and how they shouldn't be on here making sense.......by all means please share your opinion that is all I do and I manage to piss off half the armwrestling world, but you know what I don't care because I'm doing what I think is in the best interest of the sport and that might not be making friends and if its not oh well I have enough friends.....I don't agree with my wife half the time so I don't expect to agree with any of you all the time.....but why does that make it a waist of time to post, just because some people disagree does not mean they are not listening.....I respect and value most everyones opinion.....so please anyone who is not currently "active" on the board give us some insight as to why because you obviously care enough to still take the time to read? The question is why do YOU think that only 15 to 20 members of this board post any more? Mac is simple (jk mac)Karen why don't you share why you think only 15 or 20 post Sent from my DROID2 using ProBoards

The question is why do YOU think that only 15 to 20 members of this board post any more? LoL Karen, I guess I read that wrong... If you want my opinion on why there are a small portion of the board involved with comments, posting and threads.....I will be honest and say its because of people like me and a few others like me....that post Non-sense and vulgar comments that make it hard for a regular member to open a thread without wondering what kind of garbage will be inside...Speaking for myself I have cleaned up my act on the board and I have tried to be a positive part of this message board... But in reality I have not changed my sarcasm off the board....The hardest part with message boards, texting and E-mails is understanding the TONE of the words being typed.....I for one always read text messages from my Wife and It sounds like she is yelling at me....(not sure how you yell on a text) (lol) But I honestly feel people should keep an open mind when reading posts or comments on this or any board...I have met Alot of the Men that post on this board, and they are the same in real life, Fun and sarcastic...theres nothing wrong with that. But the vulgar stuff is a little much for alot of people.... I really believe if there were some Great Topics and good responses, people would slowly start coming back and getting involved with this Board again..There is Alot of repition on this board...there should be some fresh topics that No one has talked about...and I really think that getting some of the big Guys like M.Todd, Jerry C., Travis B., John B, Mike Seleris, Don Underwood and many many more would really encourage ALOT of the new and old members to really get involved....I really like reading what Devon Larrett has to say... anyways, thats why I think there sre so few involved...

It just seems like it is the same members posting on a daily basis...i looked at the averages of active users. Do all of them post?? or are they just logging in...thats all I was asking, I didnt mean any disrespect at all.

Bill if I log in and out 10 times doesn't that count as ten different members?, isn't it possible that all these guest are many of the same people going back to the site over and over......I think these numbers are not accurate and very missleading and I don't think macs thread was in any way off topic Sent from my DROID2 using ProBoards
