Hold tight everyone, I think it will all work itself out. I saw a few things I would have debated too, but I also understand that it is up to a vote of 20 people meaning a few people are forgotten by some and so they are missing in the first poll. Initially anyway.
Give it a couple of months to be refined, that way people can see how the pullers they voted for do head to head. I think it will end up being the best possible ranking system. I thought about a few pullers, Jacob Abbott, though he has not been pulling too many tournaments in recent years. I would have liked to have seen Bryon Thomas on the list as well.
I think the 198s could have went in any order. I even think there are some 198s not listed that can beat those guys on any given day.
But I think polls give another thing for people to strive for. And that's a good thing.
I think it will also bring more Canadian pullers to U.S. events and subsequently, more U.S. pullers to Canadian tournaments. I, much like Simon and Luke, plan on getting on that top 5 list very soon. It is motivation.

I had ahand in those rankings and I will tell you that most of them are not even close to what I picked... although I will say that we had to pick so quickly that I missed a few that I was glad to see make it into the rankings. I was most disapointed to see that Devon Larratt didn't make it in the supers rankings when I had him picked as 2nd. I would love to see the left hand classes get ranked but I doubt they will... it just doesn't seem to be what the movie is all about.

I had a say in them too. I only put pullers who are citizens in North America. Or I would have had my list a " Little " different.
Like Travis said, their good, they need to change, train people!!!!

They are all great pullers and certainly these could have gone many different ways, I was not intending a uprising of any sort just curious if people wanted to debate and maybe validate why they think anyone should be added or subtracted, hell that is half the purpose of rankings in the first place. ;D

I am probably as guilty as anybody for allowing my perception that someone could drop down and pull well at a given weight influence whom I would pick as the top 5 in each of these classes hence why I would say that you should have to had pulled in that class or lower in 2004, frankly if you did not pull that weight or lower this year, being it is already almost Oct, how could you be ranked in that class?
Chad Silvers and James Smith could make 165 couldn’t they, George Iszakouits, could certainly make 165 if he wanted to, I am not lobbying for them to get in at 165 anymore than I think Craig should be there, though I know someone will come on and tell me that they know for sure that Craig can make 165, that should not matter, the point is that they all have not pulled at 165 or less in 2004, the last year Craig did pull below 165 he was beaten by RJ.
Engin has lived a great deal of the past several years in the states, if we are going to make assumptions how about weight why not an assumption about where Engin could be living? Side note; Engin is the only one in that group that I think can take Vepkia at 165.
So using the criteria that you have to have pulled this weight or lower in 2004 in North America and be residing in NA at this moment:
165 Vepkia Allen Fisher Vern Martel Olin Lucas Mike McGraw
198 Kevin Bongard Mike Selearis Todd Hutchings Bill Sinks George Iszakouits
Open John Brzenk Matt Girdner Travis Bagent Devon Larratt Ron Bath
I am just throwing this out there for something to discuss, I know that if a big money event was held with these classes that people would drop to 165, the question is how well would they pull at that weight?

Simon please, Craig Tullier is definitly in the 165's
I think it should look like this:
165 - Vepkia, Tullier, Fisher, Thomas, Martel 198 - Bongard, Vepkia, Iszakowits, Abbott, Luke Remer Over - Bagent, Brzenk, Bath, Randal, Girdner....
