People ask me that question all the time.
Where did God come from? There arguement is generaly, "if everything that is created has a creation then who or what created God?"
The answer to that is that God was not "created" he always was.
He is the creator of creation.
He was before the creation.
He declares that his name is I AM. and that he is, was and always will be.
Think about this.....God Knows who he is. He has never had to question who he is. hes never doubted who he is. He has never looked his name up in the book of names to see were it came from and what it meant
If your God and you dont know that your God, Then your not God. If your God and you doubt that you are God that then would disqualify you from being God.
If God was created buy someone else wouldnt that then disqualify God from being God? and the creator of God would be the one we would worship. And he would be God and then you have to ask the question all over again of where did that god come from if the other god was created by another god and yada yada yada. and that propulsion would conlude there is no god.
But, becuase God is Holy and there is none like him he is incomparable in everyway. There can not be another god to create him. he would then not be incomparable.
God is unique in that he is set apart from everything else. in a class of his own you can't describe God like you can a rabbit "small" "furry" "mamal" 'long ears". You cant do that with God becuase he is in a class of his own there in none like him.
Some might say you look at man and there are characteristics of god in man , and there are, but the problem with that is that you dont define God, God defines you.
Where did God come from?
He always was, is and always will be. He created the creation. He is God and he knows it.
If you, like everyone else I talk to, respond to this answer again with the same question. Then you are not using your brain and you are only trying to be smarter than God and it cant be done.

Ryan, you say that people ask you this question all the time....I am curious if it is the members of the northeast message board that ask you this all the time. I am curious only because a lot of the members are not christian. Christopher Myers p.s. confirmed Christian but respectful of those who are not and dont want to hear about it unprovoked

I do believe he put this on the "Off Topic Forum". It states to post "anything" of interest. People are putting all sorts of discusions up...sports, politics, cars...whatever. If someone doesnt want to read it, the title alone tells you what he is talking about. Now if he lured you in with a title that didnt match, then your argument would hold water. I think this is a great place for him to put it, because he can talk to his brothers in the sport as well as his brothers in faith here on the board. There are many religious boards he could take this discussion to, but then he wouldnt have the armwrestlers (his interest) to talk to about it. If I want a armwrestlers view on politics, I come to the Off Topic Forum. Its the same as any other topic on here.
Im not starting an argument, I just believe Ryan was in the right for posting it here, and stating the title to what it was he was talking about.
Great analogy by the way Ryan...

Harold, I respect your point and I cant argue your logic. This is an off topic forum so you are correct. I guess because I am tired of hearing him I should not assume that others feel the same way. I just sincerely feel that agressive preaching turns people off to God and I hate when people get turned off to God. But unarguably everyone has the right to take the road that they feel brings them closest to God. So I apologize if I offended you Christopher Myers

No offense brother, and I do too agree that you can turn people off to God. The number one reason for athiesm is christians, for preaching all day long what should be done, then turning around and doing the complete opposite. I pray that his posts lead more to the Lord, then he turns off.
Your brother, Harold Ryden
p.s. I forgot to thank you for Vales address, I dropped him a line yesterday. I do believe its important for us to keep him aware that we are thinking, and praying for him because if the tables were turned, we would want the same.

Chris, First i wanna say that im not trying to argue with you or anyone else. So please again do not come on to my post and try to shut me up. If you dont want to read my post dont click on it. That post was simply something i had in my spirit, or would you deny me the right and privelage to be obedient to God?
There are some people who arent so offended by the mentioning of God that they might be interested in what i have to say.
Did you know there is no such thing as an undercover christian??
As Christians we are called to be a light and a light is useless if it is covered up. A light is henderd if you try to put it out becuase it might expose something about you, where as it may lead someone else out of the grave they sit in.
Jesus Christ calls us to accept him and his death and to then deny ourselves and become a light for him in this dark world. unless we deny ourselves and accept the commandment that we are that light and it is our duty to expose the darkness for what it is. NOT TO HIDE IN SILENCE AND HOPE PEOPLE FIND THERE OWN WAY WITH NO LIGHT !!! then we cannot call ourselves a Christian. Becuase When we choose to be silent in that way the we deny christs offer of following him.
Vic,
Christianity is not something to be put in a box only to be let out on a certain time of the week it is either who your are or it isnt.
I dont see how my post was at all offensive if it did offend remember Jesus Christ didnt come to bring condemnation but conviction to set the captive free.
Thanks Harold
God Bless Ryan
p.s. The bible says that the cross is an offense becuase it exposes you for who you are.

Hi Ryan
I for one love reading everyones stuff on here. We all come from different backgrounds that make us react different to each word thats are spoken..
I think the question ( Where did God come from) is common. Humans always need a start and finish. They need to time everything and take a measurement so they can try and figure out something. It's so hard for us to think about God always being, since we all die and everything around us comes and goes. Every day we wake up ( at a certain time) , work ( for a measured amount of $) and plan out our lives ( start and finish). Grace be to God that it comes down to faith instead of works or trying to figure out Gods thoughts and plan cause I'd be in a world hurt..

Scott thank you for your civilized response.
I agree eternity is difficult if not impossible to fathom. I also understand and respect anyone whoasks questions like that. as for myself if i had not asked those questions i wouldnt know the things about god that i do know as minute as they are. If i never question who says who gets to heaven then i would never have the answer that noone comes to the father but through the son (JESUS). I dont knock anyone who asks those kinda questions i for one welcome it. I love people asking me questions it gives me something to study and learn.
I think it is wise to ask questions in search for truth.
I think its frankly stupid to ask those kind of questions not to learn from god but to show your own "wisdom". What i mean by that is when people ask me that question without wanting to try understand the answer.
Did that make sense?

Ryan , I was never trying to shut you up only get you to find a more receptive place to preach. I respected Harold's post and what he said and how he said it made sense. So this is your post ,it is in the off topic forum, so preach at will, sorry for interupting. I would like to beleive that you care if non christians were offended. I do beleive we are to be respectful of all Gods creatures even those with different faith
Romans 14
The Weak and the Strong
1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. 5One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. 8If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. 10You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. 11It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "[1] 12So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. 13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 14As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food[2] is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. 15If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. 16Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. 17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. 19Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. 20Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. 21It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall. 22So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin. Just my opinion , but this is your post so preach yours. never in all of my diagreements with you did I ever want to shut you up only temper your choice of where and when, but in hindsight even that is wrong. one thing I want to be clear on is we are both on Gods team just playing different roles

Correct me if im wrong. i read your post and of course it is the word of god so i get a few different things from it but i am assuming you were trying to imply that i am judging and condeming and that my approach is is a stumbling block to others. Please explain to me why you think that. First off tha passage is directed to the relationship between christian brothers and lifting up the weaker in faith. Not the relationship between the church and the world. If you think "crap" is a bad word then i wont use it around you. i dont look down on you for it though. I wont use it around you becuase to you it is a bad word. i on the other hand dont think it is a bad word. forgive me if i missqoute the word here but i remember reading one time that our works or as the worth of camel dung. Paul was trying to use the strongest word to get the point across the reason he didnt use one of the other words for "dung" is becuase they hadnt been invented yet. but if to you the word is bad then out of respect and me not wanting to be a stumbling block ill try not to use it. that is how that passage is meant to be used. The sin of that either way is between you and god. The passage is not to be used as a reason to think that correcting someone in there ways is a stumbling block. there is a vast difference between whether or not crap is a bad word, and whether or not homosexuality is sin (not meaning to bring up old stuff just using an example) Also if you think drinking is sin then its sin to you as the scriptures states. I for one do not see anything wrong with drinkin as long as you dont get drunk becuase the word says be drunk not on wine but by the spirit and that wine is a mockery. Im not here to tell you to watch your mouth or to try to straighten up your life in anyway what you do is your business. I am here to do what God has called me to do. I hope that made some kinda sense im sure it didnt. i dont know how else to say what was on my heart at this time. I do hope were on the same side. But if you dont want to be a stumbling block and turn people away from God. then i would rethink your approach in trying to correct me or silence me. Im all for being corrected please do so but please use the word to do so and dont twist it. Think about this, if God puts something on my heart to put on here and it is meant to encourage maybe one person that might read it. how does it look to that person if he respects your opinoin but your on here discrediting everything i have to say simply becuase in your opinoin it wouldnt be well recieved?? Forgive me for sounding rude but who are you to speak for everyone else and say that this is not a receptive time and place to talk about God. Maybe there is a possibility that some where somebody might be struggling with something whether it be struggling with a relationship problem a death in the family struggles with sin or even to strengthen there faith a lil bit by giving them an answer to where god "came" from, and they go throughout there life maybe they go to church and the people there just dont have what he needs or maybe he dont go to church and so then we know they dont have what he needs. Waht if by the possibility someone was just struggling with something and i might have said something worth listening to and by the grace of god it was just what they needed to make it through the next day with out killing themselves. and yet you come on here and shoot me down and why? becuase its not on your post of "wisdom" ? In this situation getting you to leave me alone isnt what im asking but for you to reconsider why you do what you do. I respect you and you search for wisdom and peace. I read on a billboard one day that said: Never sacrifice truth for peace or you might lose both. I hope we can be friends and maybe one day talk about more important things in life than armwrestling. But I will never sacrifice truth for anyone, what is there to stand on if i do. When someone has a family problem such as death or ilness and people come on here to ask for prayer. why is it not rejected? ? becuase as you say this is not a time and place for prayer(especially if it isnt sunday....j/k). if you cant have god on an armwrestling message board you cant have prayer either. and while we're at it you would then have to delete all your posts on wisdom because the bible says the fear of the lord is the first step to wisdom. It is impossible to have wisdom without a fear of god. If this isnt the place for it then all that has to go to. Please just consider what i have posted as a man on the same "team". dont take offense to anything ive said. Trying to be a friend Ryan Thames

Ryan, " First off that passage is directed to the relationship between christian brothers and lifting up the weaker in faith. Not the relationship between the church and the world. " this is a prime example of what I am talking about. It is your opinion that is what the passage means. What makes you think that your interpetation is absolute? Do you think that because you love God that he will never allow you to misunderstand something? Dou you think that the Bible school teacher you study under could not have possibly failed to convey every point accurately ? It is dangerous to ones faith ( meaning others you might influence ) for you to speak with such absolute confidence when you might be influenced by your interpetation. Do not mistake your love for the Lord with being absolutely right about everything that has to do with him. What was all the stuff about "Crap" for I was not offended by that or any other word I slo do not think I am wise, Solomon was wise. I just like to think " Words of wisdom" is what they call short sayings like the ones I write I got that from a book I did not Coin the name. But the point you are missing go back to my thread and read it from the begining I posted only a few and asked if they were liked and waited for the desire of others to hear more. If my posts offended anyone I would not continue there might be a better place and time for it
My main point with R14 was and is Gods relationship with each person is between master and servant he is master and each person is a servant. who are we to judge another's servant

ok brothers, first of all Christians are not the only ones that believe in ALMIGHTY GOD. we human beings need to understand that every test and every game has it's own rules.just because we ourselves have a beginning it doesnt mean that GOD has a beginning too.think about it,we count seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years right?so the time that we count is working by the sun, right?so can it be same for the another side of universe?assuredly no.gravity for example.its working here, but does it work at the far side of the universe as it works here?of course not.so how can we compare GOD with our own selves, and ask where GOD came from?our minds are programmed with a time game, but if our understanding of time doesnt work at the other side of universe the how can we think that there s a time understanding at GOD 's presence that is same as we have?excuse my English, its not good enough to express my thoughts about this most important subject.i write about time because its holding the key i believe.time s a measurement of our lives.under the time game we all have beginnings and ends.but its only for creatures not for GOD.and just because we born, grow and die with this understanding we start to ask about where GOD came from.dont we understand that its a life that GOD gave us as a test to prove ourselves being righteous no matter what.GOD has showed us good and bad, also gave us many examples to understand it very well by prophets and other messengers.some of us are reach and some of us are poor, some healthy and some not, some worldly educated and some not, some spiritually educated and some not.i only know that we all die one day and we dont know when.im sure that GOD didnt creat us for hurting eachother, not for trying to be economically richest man( because HE owns everything, because soon or late we die and leave everything we have),not to be the world armwrestling champion( surely it would be the most stupid reason to create universe),so i believe that HE created us to test our obediance to HIM,and share our goods with ones that need( without damaging their honour ),and to work for goodness to have control over evil.
when i close my eyes i dont feel the peace in me,because i let my desires to control my spirit that belongs to GOD.i really hope that this spirit will be controling these desires to makes me sin.when i look at myself i see that my personality is the thing that GOD has giving me to keep clean on this rough road.there are many times that i left the road and i regret for those times.but other physical things are not really mine.because they will be gone soon or late if i wont be gone before:).i hope everything will be better for all of us.and we all can have peace in our hearts.
many times i have watched documentaries about the creation of a baby in mother's womb.we all were there once.so all those incredible things that were happening us in there, who was controlling?our mothers?no way, they didnt even know what was actually happenning in there.she probably felt some kicks or a few more things:).its impossible us to have same wisdom and knowledge that GOD has.so just because we dont understand how and why,do we need to deny all these amazing miracles?some people have their theories about how we became.can you believe that they didnt even know about 5 minutes ahead of their lives but they knew the secrets of humanity???its just funny to me.
where did our understanding came from? where did pain come from? where did joy come from? where did goodness come from? where did evil come from? where did love come from? where did hate come from? where did honesty come from?and list can go forever.
its the toughest subject but the answer s in our hearts.some of us listens but some of them has locked it so badly by doing wrong doings so much,so they just cant reach it anymore and they just believe in only what their eyes see:).

Chris,
Again i dont think it is just my opinoin what the scripture was talking about althought i will go back and study it to make sure. You need to uderstand that you can not take the scripture out of context. Again i will go back and study it no promises on how long ill be before i give a response im sure you agree the word is quite complex.
And why wouldnt i accept engin's veiw its exactly what i was stating in my original post, that god is not bound by time. if you dont find what he said offensive then why do you take offense to what i wrote?
The crap stuff was just an example of what the scripture was refering to. not specificaly but generally.
Engin,
I respect your veiw regardless of what Chris says about me, he dont like to read my posts before stating an opinoin. I share the same view if you go back read my original post i think you might have got the wrong idea.
You seem like a great guy im curious though if your not christian then what? Do you believe Jesus is God?
Remember im not trying to start an arguement just asking one man a question.
