I think for people to put so much emphasis on that kind of stuff is funed in my own opinion. You have some people worshiping the virgin of guadeloupe (sp). this is non-sense. And straight up demonic. IF and big IF this was an act of God, people are not to worship the act of God but to worship God.

Are you sure Abe Lincoln loved Jesus? I suggest you go check it out first... In this modern world if God in a very powerful fashion (not like George Burns) appeared to everyone I think it would solve almost all of the religious conflicts except for those few freaks that will claim it was really the devil trying to trick mankind. Sorry I forgot god is probably too busy.

By most historical accounts he was what they called a "free thinker", you know those passages Joseph quoted previously regarding god fearing peoples right to have, to own and to beat slaves, they were used against Lincoln in his emancipation campaign.

Lincoln was pro segregation, now that's historically accurate.

I know Abe gave praise to Jesus. What ever decisions he made only reflect his human aspects. Im sure isnt perfect either. But he loved Jesus.

Ryan, As I have mentioned before, you know very little about the Catholic faith. We do not worship the Virgin Mary, we ask for her intercession. Be clear on this Ryan, if you say something about my wife...we will have a problem, say something about the mother of my Savior and we will have a very big problem - get it?
Simon, To be fair, what are your religious beliefs? Not for any reason other than it might help me with understanding your perspective. Feel free to email me as I (unlike my dear friend Ryan) have no need to debate publicly. Bill

That is true Joseph as were many leaders of his time, it was kind of the selling point of their plan, "you cannot own them anymore but it is not like we are going to let them live amongst you"
Just goes to show how morally questionable our history is.

Bill the bible says there is only one mediater between God and man He is the man Christ Jesus. I have alot of respect for you bill and i have alot of respect for the Mother of Jesus and incredible woman of God who is in heaven and has no idea people pray to her.
1 Timothy 2:5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

We have no need to debate Bill and I really mean no one any harm, I just have a hard time understanding certain religious beliefs taken to levels that I think transcend common sense. I was baptized and raised Roman Catholic, in college I studied Theology, Human Physiological Development, Ancient Civilizations and Anthropology, just because I was very interested in exploring how man came to be as he is now physically, morally and socially . I have been an atheist ever since, I do not believe in heaven nor hell, a god or a devil, I believe the bible and every religious book in existence is pure fiction, nothing more than the vain attempt by man to explain his own existence and to control and manipulate the masses. What would I like to believeā¦. I would like to believe that there is a just and all powerful god that does not demand our money or our subjection, one that rights wrongs, protects the innocent and smites the wicked. A god that regardless of your beliefs, but based upon your actions will welcome you into heaven for the lack of a better word where you may spend time as the person you most enjoyed being with the people that have mattered the most to you. Alas I cannot bring myself to consider this. I put this on here in case anyone else was wondering I would enjoy talking to you Bill about anything you like. Not to worry I have not the appetite for anymore long drawn out fights on religion, but I enjoy good conversation on the subject and pushing Ryans buttons a bit, jk Ryan, .
