I agree that the rich should pay more tax. I just don't agree with the $250,000 cutoff. (BTW, NO, I DO NOT MAKE $250,000 PER YEAR). Why not make the cutoff $1,000,000? Add an extra 5% on $1,000,000 and another 5% on top of that for over $5,000,000. How much money does one person need to make? I assure you that $25,000 more in taxes per year will hurt a man that makes $250,000 but I doubt it really effects a man that makes over $5,000,000. Put the tax burden on these overpaid ball players and the millionairs/billionaires. They all have the best lawyers and find all the "Loopholes" anyway. DO NOT HOWEVER give it to the man who is unwilling to work. DO NOT give it to the illegal alien. The system is already structured where half the people in the country draw disability that could be out there working everyday. I can't tell you how many people come by my shop every month "Asking for a job". They don't want a job, they want to be able to put me down that they "Asked for a job" so they can continue to draw unemployment and work for cash on the side for a while longer. This is not where I want my tax dollars to go.

LMAO you think a 25,000 cut will hurt a man who makes 250,000 a year?
Oh ok...so instead of him buying his daughter a porsche...she'll have to settle for the Lexus.

Here's another question. When you go to vote, you tell them your name and they give you a ballot with your name on it. If you owe for ANYTHING or if you are wanted for any kind of crime, why don't they have law enforcement there to arrest you on the spot? If you owe child support, have a judgment against you, owe parking tickets, etc, etc, etc. You should not be given the privilege to vote until you straighten up without whatever or whoever you owe. I'm sure there are a ton of people out there voting today that have no business casting a vote on how ANYTHING should be done !!

Just curious, do you have info that backs that up, Rick?

Yes I do. Do you know what the cost of living is in California? Do you know what land costs in some areas? Do you know what rent is in some areas? Do you know what percentage in tax a man who makes $250,000 a year pays already?
How about health insurance. Phil, do you pay health insurance on your family? If so, how much is the family plan?
I doubt $250,000 goes as far as you think it does. BTW, why would a man want to go out and bust his tail to make more money and get ahead if the government just takes more of it? It's like working overtime at your job. If you work 4-5 hours overtime at time and a half you will do pretty good. Go work 20 hours over and see what you get home with. Not worth the additional time and trouble.

I am for McCain but I am not mad that Obama is going to win. I'm just afraid that as a country we are about to get what we deserve.
Be careful what you ask for. You might get it.
Ready or not, here he comes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, I'm not concerned with what will happen to our country in the next 8 years. I'm worried about where the next 8 years will put us as a country about 20 years from now.

So your saying the guy who makes 250,000 is having a harder life than me making 80,000
Is his mortgage higher than mine? Is his insurance higher than mine?
Even if the government took 40 percent of his pay and added 25,000 in more tax. He would be left with 150,000 take home.
How much money do people need? And BTW anyone who makes more works less. The more they make the more they sit at a desk.
Your an idiot.

No. Not statistical data anyway. I just look all across my little and every handicap parking place I try to park at has a car with a handicap sticker. I set back and see perfectly healthy people (On the outside anyway-I'm sure they have something wrong) climb out and run in the store. BTW, if you can't walk from a regular parking spot into the store, how come you can walk all over Wal Mart?
I can think of about 50 people that I know who are drawing disability. They are far more able bodied than I am. They could work. They just are happy and willing to live off what the gov. will give them. They have no drive, no goals, no self respect. They are for the most part perfectly happy to scrape by from pay check to paycheck. I mean NO DISRESPECT to the man who is out here busting his tail working 40 hours a week that cannot get ahead. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the working man. I just don't have any respect for the man out here complaining that he doesn't have anything because he's not willing to put some effort into it.

At what point did I say that? I don't think that a person making $80,000 a year should be taxed more and I don't think a person making $250,000 per year should be taxed more. I don't think that $250,000 should be where we draw the line and call someone "RICH". I think it should be more along the lines of $1,000,000 per year.
BTW, did you vote today? Is so, who did you vote for? I'm waiting.....
