You got to make a Million dollars a YEAR to be "Rich"?. WOW, I've had a misconception of "Rich" all my life LOL. IDK if me and Mrs. pulled in 250K a yr. I'd sure as hell feel RICH. Screw just the Porsche Phil, I'd have several top end sports cars.

OK. Let me ask you guys the question. At what $$$ amount would YOU PERSONALLY want to start paying a much larger tax percentage to make up for those less fortunate?

First of all I don't want to pay for any turds that are too damn lazy to get a job. I wouldn't mind as much to help pay for the working family that can't make ends meet. Now, I think if someone/a family makes 150k+ per year they are doing pretty good. IDK thats just me. I come from a poor background so someone that grew up with a silver sthingy in their mouth may not agree. The amount would depend on were someone lives as well. 150k in Spring Run, I'd be living LARGE. In Boston, or any other big city, probably not as much. I don't think someone would struggle though. IDK I haven't lived in a big city so I can't say for sure, I'm just guessing.

150k is rich to me. I live in Boston and 150k a year would make my life easy. very easy. I grew up poor so i'm sure all those silver s p o o n kids will disagree. You know.....those guys whose daddies left them the company...or there parents were doctors or lawyers and there kids were sent to private schools...
People say you have to work hard.....well it's a lot easier when your parents are wealthy.
why is s p o o n not allowed?it turns into sthingy when you type it...weird...

BTW I think there should be a flat tax. Eliminate all the BS tax write offs and make people pay their freakin' taxes. Everyone pays the same %. Rick I had the argument with SEVERAL people at work about working OT. My tax and financial adviser, and good friend JD cleared those myths up for me. IF I understood him correctly you get taxed on the amount you make. You don't get taxed more(% wise) by working OT. You would get taxed that much if you normally made that much. You normally make 100K -vs- you normally make 80K but make 20g's extra in OT. Taxes would be the same. I hope that made sense, and hopefully I understood JD correctly.

Making more is always better....no matter what the taxes are.
How many labor workers make 200k a year?
Now...How many guys in suits, sitting at a desk enjoying the air conditioning make 200k a year?
So if i'm getting 200k a year and you want to tax me go ahead....because life is good at 200k a year regardless of any taxes.
I think people should be paid by how physically hard the job is.

I agree that there are a TON of people that don't deserve what they get paid for what they do, but you'd be surprised at how hard a desk job can be. I've argued with my brother about this quite a bit, but I personally am WAY more exhausted now from my desk job than I ever was doing my manual labor jobs. Granted there were days when I used to pour concrete that were abnormally tough, but once your done for the day your done. I tend to worry and have work on my mind more now for some reason. I'm not trying to whine about having a desk job, just trying to say that it's not all easy. At least not that easy for all of us.

I'm sure thats due to "mental exhaustion"
You can tire yourself out by thinking too much.
But....if you had to choose your new desk job over your previous labor job?
Well....we all know the answer.

How about making it depend on average cost of living for where you live? Would be a total pain in the ass, but it would be more fair. As far as what I think is rich, I would say on average $250k is pretty damn rich. You realize that's $120/hr., almost $5000 a week. I couldn't even imagine having that much money. If you were strict enough to live either at or below your means, you'd be rolling.

money increments are relevant...when you make more you spend more so you can work more to make more to spend more and so on and so on..i believe a guy making 250 is in the same debt as me...just living on a diff. level...if you HAVE to work for a living your not money rich..you just have nicer toys..(that has to be paid for)..and 25k would bother him a bit...

So don't get "nicer toys"....
a guy making 250k can still drive a normal car.....or is that "below" his standards?
I was making 20k a year now i'm at 80k....my life style didn't change....
But I sure as hell have cash and investments!!
AND NO DEBT!!
Making more doesn't mean you need to spend more....

Thats an idiotic statement. Let's see, (I didn't go to any kind of education after high school BTW), let's don't take into consideration that the guy/gal spent $150,000 on law school or went to school for 6 years to be a pharmacist. That doctor who has a pie job (only works or all call about 80 hours a week) shouldn't make as much as you make. That's a joke. Again, don't penalize the man who took the time and effort to further their education and spend their hard earned money to do it. You should be a big Obama fan, you sound a whole lot like him. Let's take the money away from the rich doctor/lawyer and give it to the moron who didn't finish high school. As a matter of fact, why don't we just have the government keep you up where you don't even have to work at all. Oh, I forgot. We already have that here in the US. It's called Welfare. Spread the wealth, man. Spread the wealth.

More than 80 percent of those "college kids" had mommy and daddy to pay for it....
So you seem to be the..."Let the rich get richer type"
