The only reason that our tax rate has to be so high is that the operating cost of our government has gotten out of control. It has become entirely too large and hence powerful and we will now see the effects of such in a Big Government House and Senate coupled with the most Big Government minded president since Roosevelt.

The Government has become WAY too large...and WAY too demanding...TOO greedy. When this country started, it was a government ran by the people for the people. This is not the case anymore. There is no reason anyone should have to pay 35-40% of what they make to the government, regardless of how much their income is. I honestly think a successful government could function off 5-10%. I also don't think any of our problems are going to be solved until we can all look past currency, enchanted kingdoms, and 73 Virgins.

Our country never intended on having "professional" politicians. It was suppose to be a part time job. Here in Montana we take that attitude to heart. We only let our legislature meet every other year and then for just 6 months. The pay is only for that 6 months so they all have to have other jobs and occupations. The way we look at it, the less they are in session the less harm they can do. ;D
