I thought this was a joke when I first heard about this but in the past couple weeks, I've read and heard some amazing/backstabbing politicians in this process. How can this be even a thought or even considered to be a logical plan?? It's just wrong in SO many ways.

i agree! having mosque for Muslims is a different thing than building a mosque somewhere without considering the sensitivity of the others.IMO it is not a good thing for Muslims either.it will cause negative reactions upon the Muslims esspecially for the ones who go there.
i have no idea about their intention but it is wrong!

I agree with Ryan. Being able to agree to disagree is one thing, but this would be sheer disrespect.

Engin, I totally think your awesome to understand and respect this opinion. i have some ideas about why they want to do this; Bush administration was thought of anti-Islamic by the Muslim countries esspecially after using the " crusade" word.and new administration would like to give some messages to the world such as ," what we do in Afganistan is not a war against Islam" and ," we do not believe that 9-11 was done by the Muslims but by the radicals which can not change our view about the faith of nearly 1,5 billion people". if the reason is one of them that i mentioned above then this should be explained to the public but still the desicion needs to be made by the feelings and thoughts of the Americans, otherwise this may have negative results against Islam unlike the intention of those who made this desicion. another thing that comes to my mind is that they simply wants to create hate crimes against Muslims in USA.

Here it is viewed as a "victory stamp" on the battle grounds. And is highly offensive to many Americans.

From someone who watched the towers fall, and thank "God" didn't know anyone who died, but many who worked down there after ( and have heard many horror stories), I feel that with over {ESTIMATION) 2,500 Mosques in the US, and over 100, again an "estimation" in NYC , they can find another spot for it.....JUST MY OPINION

they can find another spot for it.....JUST MY OPINION very true! it is exactly what i thought when i watched the news about this matter.i hope that they will not do this.does anyone have any idea " why" they would do such thing? there should be a reason for that and i believe it did not happen by the will & power of the Islamic organisations in USA.it is clearly a political desicion.

all the evidence points towards it ---------can you judge/figure out a man by what he says or by what he does
what he says is backwards from what he does --------plus he grew up a muslim
