Of course I heard Tim got hurt during the Pushkar match but it stands to reason that Pushkar is definitely going to make a right handed match with Devon interesting. Unless it goes to straps then all bets are off because Pushkar sucks in the straps lol. Arsen is Devon's biggest threat in my opinion stylistically.

Here is something I find interesting.
You'll excuse Devon's match with John because of John's "injury" but you'll use Devon's match with Tim as a gauge (even though Devon almost went immediately into surgery)?
I'm not making excuses for Devon or taking anything away from Tim. If you accept a match, be ready for it. This should ring true for EVERYONE.

During the matchup I used that as a gauge but since learning Devon had surgery it's not the best gauge to use. I think more a long the lines of Devon pulling Richard as my gauge towards the Arsen matchup. He was healthy there no???

I also use Michael Todd as a gauge. Mike Todd beat Devon twice and Mike beat Pushkar 6-0 but Pushkar seemed to have overwhelming power even in the Mike Todd matchup. He just didn't have the fine tuned part to beat Mike. I think they are very legit matchups that Devon needs to compete in. It would definitely solidify that #1 ranking in the entire worlds eyes. I know EVERYONE picks Devon as #1 lefty now even though there are a few that still wanna see him pull Denis and I would love to see him pull Denis lefty also. The thing about John being the former man of the world is he actively went seeking competition. I think Devon can more solidify his name if he seeks out those few that people think will beat him. You will always have the Voevoda matchup lingering no way to fix that unless Voevoda comes back. In my mind Voevoda wasn't AS BAD as he was made out to be because John was hurt very bad then and hadn't been training on a table for awhile. Not a good indicator as John said himself. I do think the number 1 hop while John was injured was a little premature myself. I still want to see the NUMBER 1 MAN Devon pull those 3 big names from overseas. Is that too much to ask lol??

I know his work interferes with matches sometimes but surely someone could somehow setup the matches at a time convenient for Devon. Any insight into that John???

Also I was under the impression that Devon got hurt when him and Tim pulled. I did not know he was hurt before that? What was his injury from just normal wear and tear over the years??

Mr. Milne... thanks for pointing out that Devon was in need of surgery. I held back on saying that, as I didn't want it to sound like an excuse. As I understand it, it was wear and tear over the years from some very hard matches from very tough opponents along with tons of training. He'll be back soon.
Since styles make matches, I'm also curious how folks now view the Lupkes/Underwood/Larratt possibilities?
I also think that a Michael Todd of today would be a nightmare for a 2004 Voevoda, as another 'dream matchup' opponent for him.
Also, as indicated earlier in the thread, nope, it's not too much to ask to want to see certain matchups. I have a huge list of them myself that I am waiting to see.

Styles make matches is right Jason, and everybody in this sport should know that as a firm truth now.
Anyhow, Devon would beat Mr. Lupkes quite easily in my opinion 6-0
Devon over Don 5-1. I think Don flashes Devon once, then they slip and go to the straps nearly every time after that with Devon going right through Don after the initial hit.
Devon sweeps Cyplenkov, easily.
I agree with almost everybody's opinion that the hardest matchup right now for Devon is Arsen. Honestly, it comes down to venue. If the 110kg Arsen is pulling Devon in Europe, Arsen will win 4-2 or 5-1. Somehow nobody over there sees his entire arm jump 4-6 inches off the pad on every big match hit he performs. However, with strict reffing only allowing slight readjustments, Devon handles the match 4-2 or 5-1.
Dream matchups are fun to play, but there should be no doubters left for Devon today. Considering the Alexey/Devon match is unlikely, though possible, to happen, lets be happy we get to watch an absolute armwrestling machine who doesn't back away from any challenge. Devon's the man.
p.s. There may be a new superheavy to throw into the mix. I know he is a beast!

The general wear and tear from the years is what put Devon into surgery. There may have been some more wear and tear after the match with Bresnan, but that match isn't the reason surgery was needed.
As I've said, I do not want to take anything from Bresnan and it's not an excuse Devon is willing to use. Tim was awesome that day and was well prepared. End of story. Tim took Devon to the limit and deserves all the credit in the world.
It's almost impossible to not be a Bresnan fan, he's as cool as they come. He's constantly improving and may eventually have the move that Devon can't stop. I guess time will tell.

Both of them, Vegas and Mike Gould Classic.

Dante and David, when people post their opinion on this board in most cases it has nothing to do with hating, maybe you do? I really think Devon would beat anyone in a supermatch right handed and from what I have seen he is an awesome guy, but we are talking about Alexei and everyone has their right to post. And I do not want to see someone beat Devon, but as an armwrestling fan I want to see Devon-Denis, Devon-Pushkar, Devon-John, Devon-Liliev, Devon-Undervood,... John, It is not only with Devon, it is with all best pullers.

Jason I dont think underwood or lupkes come close to devon now. Devon is way too strong. Underwood has gotten beaten by tim bresnan and lupkes was killed by arsens top roll. I think matchups like arsen/denis/devon would be phenomenal.

Dante Dall'Antonia, You can not address it to someone who did not identified himself as a hater. But posting that after people posting their opinions against Larratt in a supemutch means something... Anyway, all in all I don't care about pointless posts.
