..Ryan....you be judge as judge be you...maybe you're not as straight line as you seem.....it's the Jesus Freaks who give Religion a bad name... TK John 15: 20. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. Jesus was crucified because he said he is the only way.John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. NOT because he said well, follow what you feel and be a good person and you wont go to hell. were all the same after all... If i believe in Jesus......then simply what i believe speaks for itself that ALL OTHER RELIGIONS ARE WRONG I dont have to say that...JESUS SAID IT

Ryan your "belief" is a great thing - FOR YOU. Just as anyone elses belief is a great thing - FOR THEM.
YOU persecute, ridicule, damn, belittle all others BUT your "belief". And remember, it's a BELIEF.
Time after time in your post you say "I believe". Not I KNOW, but I believe. Why is your belief any better than anyone elses?
If you honestly wish to "lead" anyone into your way of thinking you need to take a much different approach. All you do is make people turn a deaf ear.
Ernie - were you a Mason at one time?

I have just finished reading all of this and I must say I commend everyone for this very good debate.
Allen,
I really wish i lived closer so we could sit and talk this out, for the parts in which I know you are a part of does a lot of good for a community and I know your heart and soul is in the right place.
TK,
I definitely respect your stance and I appreciate your view for both sides.
Ernie,
I would love to see that book.
Karen,
I agree with your thoughts on leading.
Ryan,
I know your knowledge of the Bible blows me away, but as a young christain and someone who had a hard time making that final step your bluntness is what scares a lot of people a way. I found a place where I was loved for who I am and not judged but informed, and thats what lead me to Jesus. Please don't take this the wrong way I respect your thoughts and I know you only want the truth to be known, but love is the way not the ridicule. Instruction of wrong doings is one thing, but damning is another. I hope you understand my point.
Once again everyone this is a great debate,
JD

Ryan,
I am sorry if i offended you with that, I to have been known to make statements about other religions, but of the other christians on this board you are the fastest to make statements about others decisions, and whether you feel as if you have pionted out anyone individually or not people will take things personal about things they believe in. In my opinion the love and grace approach works better for me than the hell and brimstone speaches. Like I said though and have told you before I commend your strength, I was just voicing my opinion on what I prefer, and i know that the Bible is not all love, but lessons have to be taught too.

Ryan,
You HAVE damned - go back and read your posts regarding Joseph Smith and Mormons.
You HAVE ridiculed - go back and read your posts to Allen regarding Masons.
You do agree that you speak about other religions and that it is your responsibility to do so. Yet you speak of religions as if you are an expert in their beliefs, which you obviously aren't. You throw out your "beliefs" of what religions other than your own do, say, think, believe, etc. and don't you ever notice that each time you do, members of that particular religion become insulted, upset, and outraged over your lack of facts and knowledge?
It doesn't matter who started this thread. Part of me doesn't think you were out of line in posting the voting question regarding a Mormon, but part of me also does. You are infamous for judging a book by its cover, not its content. You are also infamous for taking up the sword and going to battle before fully having all the facts in front of you. I am not fully acquainted with the Mormon religion any more than I am with the Catholic religion (although my husband is Catholic) therefore I would never attempt to condemn either faith without sufficient knowledge regarding them.
It also doesn't matter who brought up the Mason issue. It's just a damned shame that people feel the need to persecute that which they don't understand or know.
What religion are you Ryan? What church do you attend? I'm curious to see what religion advocates the type of brow beating that you exhibit.
I do believe your heart is in the right place regarding your religion but your head needs to learn how to better talk to people. Have you never heard the age old saying - you get more flies with honey than you do vinegar? I think if you tried it you might be surprised as to just how many people might stop and listen to you and possibly "see the light" rather than run as fast as their feet can take them the opposite direction.

Not saying all, but where I'm from Baptists and Christians seem to always have the same religious traits. I'm from a small religious town so religion is always shoved down your throat if you're not apart of one.
For Example: There was a man who moved to town and opened up a new bank. Numerous, not sure which, Baptists came up to him and told him he better figure out which church he attends if he ever hopes at making it in this town. Also, members of the same church have told my sister, who is a devout Catholic, on numerous occasions that she is going to hell for being a Catholic.
Doesn't it say something in the bible about (not claiming to be an expert) "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged." Not sure if that's accurate or not on the subject, but I'm just using to help my argument, which is what people do all the time with passages from the bible. It's funny because a lot of the time the bible contradicts itself later on.

I have just finished reading all of this and I must say I commend everyone for this very good debate. ... Ernie, I would love to see that book. ... Once again everyone this is a great debate, JD JD, and all others, I have just finished scanning 17 different pages from "Morals and Dogma" and a couple other Masonic publications. I have to rotate them and get them uploaded for viewing. Right now I need to get to bed...I work nights. When I post them there will be no disputing the facts of what I have said, however I do expect some to try to hide from the facts or mislead some to try to cover the Order. It will be real hard to try to dispute actual images of their own publications. No judgment and no hard feelings. Just cold hard facts.

It's funny because a lot of the time the bible contradicts itself later on. Chris, we have no right to judge each other. When we have an open dialog about the pros and cons of the many religions, some people get offended. I'm a devout Catholic who is used to Catholic bashing. Say what you think and why you think it. I'll try to show you why I believe what I do. No hard feelings. I understand what you say about people telling you how to "get saved." It's annoying. What they assume is that you care what they think. We only really care about the thoughts of the people we truly respect. And in those cases, we ASK them for what they think. These discussions on religion , overall, have been reasonably constructive. Everyone's point of view has added depth that you wouldn't get in conversation with people who believe everything that you believe. May God Bless You All Abundantly, Bob
