Your somewhat right Rob about the money situation. But there are people out there that dont voice there opinion online, but through word of mouth that moneys tight and cant afford going to fly into EAU, or Billings etc... One main reason i didnt go to Unifieds this year. Wasnt that i wasnt going to attend. Its one of my favorite ones to attend. But i just cant throw a 600+ plane ticket away on every event that i choose to fly too. So instead i flew to Los Angeles for 350 and went to THE UAL.
Nothings going to change because of this discussion. Im sure all are nice places to take your family to, to spend the weekend or whatever while you are there. But 99 percent come to armwrestle and go home. Not to mention who has the money to spend to fly out a family out somewhere that a ticket is 600+. Theres cheaper airports to fly to!!! Why not make the choice to host a tournament where its not going to cost a fortune to go. Must make to much sense. I would think it would make for a better turnout, ESPECIALLY for the ones concerned about making a better USA TEAM. Just saying theres always room for improvement. Thanks for reading.

Wouldn't it also be easier to get more of an attendance at nationals if it were hosted in more popular flying friendly city. (Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, Las Vegas, etc...) Ive noticed alot of nationals are on the out skirts of big cities which require a car rental and having to drive another 1-2hrs.
Ive been reading alot of people saying costs are to high to travel on the board, hosting there national and or large tournaments in flier friendly cities, costs should be at the minimum flying anyways.

May not make it. Had to take my wife to the hospital first thing this morning. Found out she has kidney stones. All depends on how she feels.

I can tell you from my experience with my fathers death, i was only 10. I was his baseball superstar. Drilling me with training videos, and around the clock practices, i meant so much to him. Every little team i tried out for fought over a select few guys, usually i was first pick. Me and my dad spent alot of time together. It took me about 10yrs to get used to speaking of him after he passed, with a smile instead of in tears. That's really why i got into this sport. See my dad used to arm wrestle, not professionally but within our county. Everyone who knew him knew that he was the man to beat. He want a big guy, just naturally strong. my point to this long paragraph is that i arm wrestle for my dad. i feel a connection with him spiritually when i compete. I always feel his presence. Which makes me feel better about him being gone. Everyone takes grieving differently, and I'm sure you know this. Make the best of what you have, and what he loved doing. Even though you can't physically see him, you'll know he's the watching. I like to tend to believe that anyways. I hope this helps. Don't give up though, i almost did and I'm thankful i didn't! God Bless!!!
