Sara Bachman was awesome as a JR puller.
Tom Dixon started pulling in the men's Open at age 15. He never lost a match in the 16-18 classes since age 14 at any tourny he went to including nationals. He placed 2nd in AAA Nationals in the Novice Mens class 3 weeks before his 16th B-Day. Behind Andrew Castro who was a good young puller as well.
He placed 3rd in the Mens Open 220 at Unified Nationals at age 16 then went and won the 18 under class the next day L/R. Placed 5th right and 10th left at Worlds in Bulgaria in the JR heavy class. At age 18 he placed 2nd Right and 5th Left in the JR class at Worlds.
But as far as young pullers who did great and are still rocking. Ethan has to be the man. Hands down one of the best JR pullers and one of the elite pullers in his class.

Hey TJ see you in the 54's Don't plan on me winning anything, I'm just coming down to pull for fun, and see everyone. Hiking up and down the mountain sides chasing bad guys with 50lbs of gear really cuts the weight fast. See ya there

IA - Tom Dixon since there are less than a handful of pullers in the state.
NE - Right I would say Billy Weis, Left Scott Lohman, If its not a guys only deal Mary McConnaughey has the best overall record of wins and titles

Steven this is AWESOME! I was looking forward to getting home for my leave from Afghanistan and making a Tourny. I get home on the 11th of April. I'm super excited now, and last week I weighed a whopping 148... I'll be there for sure, not sure about my brother though. See you all in a couple months.

I'm having a heck of a time finding something to make elbow and pin pads out of here. (Afghanistan) I was wondering if anyone would be interested in donating one or two sets so I can finish some tables? I had the welders make some frames. I have tops for them, and just need some pin and elbow pads.
I have quite a few people interested in pulling here, but the plastic lunch tables aren't exactly working out so well.
If anyone can help out let me know, TSmiley98@yahoo.com

Yea, for sure there is a pool of talent down in KC, you had no choice Steven, either get good or quit.. I have no plans on being a great armwrestler, just supporting the sport. I have way too many distractions with the military.

Like I said steven, I wasn't there, and there is no doubt ethan is great, you are getting better as well. Tom has never had to train, and has gotten by way too long. He has no reason to BS me, aned he said there were questionable setups, calls (which happens everywhere) and he even said whene it comes down to it he lost, regardless of calls, setups etc. Hopefully this gets him edotivated to train. His last practice was months ago.

I heard there were issues with setup, don't know I wasn't there, Sure Doug beat Tom, but lost to Steven Green and Logsden in the tourny, Tom beat both Green and Logsden without issue. Said it was a bad call why Ethan beat him in overalls, prooved it with the 3-1 win. It is what it is, gotta take the good calls with the bad. I'll be back next year. (I'll be in Afghanistan this weekend until next fall) Can't wait to get back and see everyone again. Keep up the hard work.

As for women, the two most obvious choices from North America are Dot Jones and Barb Schlegel (Zalepa). except for another OBVIOUS person, Mary McConnaughey, she is definatly needing to be on that list. I feel she is partially responsible for having such great pullers in the sport such as, Margie, Andy Paul, Nick Zinna, Hell even Don Underwood said at the 25th pull for the hungry that that was his FIRST tournament and she was a big part of him starting up. Jerry Janning also was part of team heartland back in the day. Mary has not only lots of accomplishments in the sport , ut is huge in keeping the sport going. For so many people who know her to forget to mention her name is just ignorant. Just my opinion.

Fouls happen alot................some huge.........some very minor, like in a deep hook and resetting your elbow............you are sitting on your elbow so you can't drag it so you give it a little pop to reposition with NO drive or position gain..............FOUL.........gimme a break. I would agree that a little pop up and back down would be ok, but anytime you reposition, you gain an advantage from where you were. Resetting, repositioning, with or without a drive gives you a gain in position, if it didn't why would you need to move your elbow position to begin with?

Minor fouls, major, fouls, where do you differentiate the two? Is it up to the ref and their many different opinions to decide what was a major or minor foul?
I liked the events better where a ref would give a warning to someone for elbows getting close to the edge or a little hop that didn't result in an advantage, better than an event where those would have been called fouls and the match stopped. I have also seen places where an obvious bail/foul was made in a losing position (2-3 inches from the pin pad) and it restarted when the win should have been called.
In the end though it should be the competitors who need to prevent the fouls and keep the matches going, not the refs deciding what is minor and not to call or what is major an needs to be called...
