I hate to keep harping on this, ok no I don’t, to me this is indicative of the fact that this system is badly broken and not even remotely up to speed with the current politics of the world, it is just a popularity contest driven by witty sound bites and who makes themselves heard first and the loudest, ala MM and the Dems world statements. Duke our right to stand up and question our government may still exist but it effectively died when we no longer had enough muskets to do anything about it. OK lets say we all rally around what MM and the Dems put out there, “Bush is stupid” “he is not fit to run our country” “get him out of there” blah blah blah, then what? You replace him with Kerry and the middle aged “Ken Doll” what good is that going to do us? Nothing changes, they fumble their way through their 4 years and just before the election Arnold funds a movie like MM’s? So we go ohh “Kerry is stupid get that guy out of there”, then it goes on and on. People believe the President has far more to do with how this country runs than he really does. We have created so much BS legislation and policy that no matter what elected officials intentions are or how hard they try they are completely ineffective, and the system will just continue to require more people more BS and more money to band aid it so we can limp along and manage problems.
My favorite simple example of how stupid it all is; back when Clinton was in office after eons of work and falling short of their lofty goals they were going to try and put through a balance budget “policy”, the Reps put a rider on it that reduced subsidized school lunch programs, so Clinton did not sign it, so now he became the president that did not want a balanced budget, if he would have signed it he would have been the president that cut school lunch programs, they are all just wasting time.

Not as profound as Mr. Meyers words of wisdom certainly but a pretty decent saying to keep in mind.

i`m not rallying around mm..i just know my family and i seemed much better off with clinton than with bush..i dont agree with bushes decision making or the people he surrounds himself with...he`s either a dictator wanna be...buffoon...or a blatant liar..right to our faces...or all of the above...he has a personal agenda...when a person who has as much power as him has a personal agenda...against iraq, for big business...that can only spell doom for the average person...this country is being divided into 2 classes now..rich and poor...and he`s helped it get that way...remember fist pounding wmd...oh, my military records got lost....what bullcrap...i`d much rather someone lie about whether he cheated on his wife...rather than an excuse to go to war...  |

I am not going to defend GWB again I have little regard for any of them, for one they try and bluff their way through a job they know they cannot do effectively due mostly to how silly the entire process is, and two, they are all always looking out for themselves their careers and their wealth, once you become president you should be completely committed to the best interest of our nation and nothing else. Once we put him there though we cannot allow our lower level leaders to publicly tear him apart. "Take care of your own house"
I for one do not care on iota about Clinton's personal habits as long as he is not forgoing his duties, he certainly could have been smarter about it, it would have made me feel more comfortable about the other decisions he made.
I believe at this point for us to be safer we need to target certain people and political factions in the world, and be rid of them, that does not mean that we need to send 250K troops anywhere, some of these people just need to wake up dead one morning.

I wanted to say, uh............ THEY FOUND THREE, COUNT THEM, THREE NUCLEAR WARHEADS ATTACHED TO MISSLES IN...(now get this)...IRAQ !!!!  So far! And I really do not think GWB had our people take some over there and plant them. They were found in a concrete trench that is designed to deter sniffers. (Where's MM, Linda Ronstat(sp), the Baldwins, Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, etc.?)  |

you mean they found all 3 of them...took long enuf to find anything...what,are they left-overs from 13 yrs. ago...the way we started out screaming about these, made it sound like the whole country was full of them...and kept making wmd...so whats going on here, with all the iraqis we liberated...and all the top personal we captured..and all our info-finding people, we found 3...no-one ratted saddam out and said where the whole cache` of weapons and poisons went?...we`re still searching...how many nuclear war-heads do we have..but thats ok...we`ll use them the rite way..don`t get me wrong..we need them as a deterrant...so who`s next we can liberate and help run their country for them..n.korea?..but i do believe these rogue dictators must go... |

I wish I had Tom Cruises money……
I have had a lot of people tell me to shut up and run for an office then, I almost ran for the governor of Nevada, but my work forced me to move to California. I would get run out of office so fast because I would not let the BS legislation or the litany of mindless bureaucrats stop me from doing what was right for the city, state, or country I was responsible for. Then the limp decks would call for my removal for abuse of power regardless if it was the right thing to do.
All arguments should be settled by armwrestling, so there fore it would become a part of our educational curriculum, and the national past time.

Duke I certainly think that manner of approach would teach these numbskulls a better lesson, when they have to start fearing for their personal lives they might start behaving a bit, nobody really believes we will invade them, now with all of the bad press probably less then ever.

BOY VERY much miss informed. First WMDS; !2 years 17 resolutions. Bush said the exact same words that Clinton used when he bombed Iraq in 98. Same words kerry, and Daschle used. Clintons administration, The U.N. ,The French,British, German, AND Russian intelligence agencies ALL said he had WMDS. HE USED them on his OWN people. WAKE UP!!!!!!!. Evidence they were sent to Syria in the Baca Valley. Found Serin and Mustard Gas. According to the UPI found 3 nuclear bombs. WHO CARES how old they are, THEY are NUCLEAR BOMBS . Bush NEVER said Saddam had nuclear bombs. He said, from reports that they might MIGHT BE 6 months away from a nuclear bomb. OOPS he was wrong. ALL in a Country the size of California. Thats like finding a needle in a haystack. Especially since we found caches of arms and bombs buried under schools and hospitals. And evidence they are in the Baca Valley. I can't imagine were he MIGHT have hid them. Oh BTW these findings mean nothing, all because Bush said " stockpiles " of WMDS.
ALSO right before we went to war ( the last resolution ), WITH THE UNANIMOUS APPROVAL OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL OF THE U.N., including France, Germany, Russia, and China. Saddam signed billion $ oil contracts with France, Germany, Russia, and China. There were documents found that Saddam hoped that Saddam hoped France, Germany, Russia, and China would stop us from going to war.OH to bad!!!! Lets not even begin to talk about the food for oil program scandal that the U.N. made 3 billion $ of of, PLUS all the others that made money.
DUKE, you mention N Korea. Well during Clintions 8 years ,we are their #1 suppler of food in the world. He then fed his army with it, while 1,000,000 of his people starved to death. OH clinton also gave that F##K the technology on how to enrich uranium. An important step towards a nuclear bomb.
Clinton also sold the technology for long range nuclear weapons to reach the U.S. to the Chinese for campaign contributions to the DNC. SO who was putting this Country in danger.

NO ONE CARES that he cheated on his wife.GOD he was doing it for years. The point was that the Chief Law Enforcment Officer in this Country, a Lawyer to boot, tried to get 2 people ( Monica, AND Linda Tripp ) to purger themselves, so they can cover up his purgered statements. YES a Civll Case, yes about sex (at the time there were 110 people in federal prison for purgering themselves in federal court in a civil sex case ). BUT it stopped someone from there basic 4th amendment right. The right to due process, a fair trial. THAT was what it was ALL about, BUT the media spin was , it was only sex. NO IT was about The President, who put his hand on a bible and swore to uphold the laws of this land. YET commited purgery and TRIED to have 2 others commit purgery to help him. THAT is why Linda Tripp started taping Monicas phone calls. He also, after office, lost his law license for it
One more thing: Duke you mentioned there are 2 classes in this Country. O.k. if thats what you want to believe. BUT who has had control in this Country for 50 years. NOT the Republicans. Even during the Reagan years Congress was controlled by the dems.....YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER. CONGRESS NOT THE PRESIDENT CONTROLS DOMESTIC ISSUES. The president can control foriegn Policy thats it. The biggest gap between the rich and poor ever were during the Clinton years. 3 years Bush is in office and HE helped make it this way. NO try again!!!!

Certainly not I was making a very specific and complimentary statement regarding your words of wisdom, mine is just a saying and it is a bit shallow and financially motivated, (ala putting money ahead of all else) yours are indicative of the understanding that there are far more important things in life than money, I think your words of wisdom are beautifully thought out and sobering sentiments that cut through the BS of life to what is really important.
Please keep on sharing them.
