I understand your point tony. But God does everything he can to intervene in every situation without going against our freewill.
Mary didnt ascend to heaven.
"I Don't see how not killing me is payback for a favor"(Red VS. Blue) He is giving you grace by giving you an oporrtunity to love him and accept him.

I have alot of reading yet to do of the Bible. Right now I'm in the middle of that. But back when I was in grammar and High School we had religion classes (private Catholic schools). One of the things we covered was the Ascension of Mary. When I get to that part of the Bible I will put the quotes up.

Tony, 'All I'm trying to say is if God knows that a person is going to hell in the end God shouldn't just let that person fall. To me that is a sin of omission.' Once again, that was the choice that person made. What would be great is if Adam & Eve hadn't sinned in the first place, we'd all be living in a perfect world, with God walking amongst us, wouldn't that be cool But because they did sin, God had to seperate himself from sin ( that would be us ) and make a way for us to be cleansed of our sins ( that would be Jesus crucified ) so He could fellowship with us again

Amen!!
Come on! ;D
If you get to that part please let me know. Ive never heard such a thing maybe Bill can help with this one.
The bible says it is aapointed unto everyman to die once.
Elijah and Enoch never died theyll be back. according to prophecy. and they will be kill and it wil be broadcast all over the news.
Mary hower. unless shes was ascended after she died. this likley did not happen. She was born in sin like everyone else. The only difference is she had faith in the coming messiah and knew that he would be born of a virgin and becuas of her faith ALONE. God showed her favor and blessed her.

So Mary ascended into heaven? That's an interesting thought. She must be all wrinkly and old by now.... I think I would prefer to just die and shed my body so I can become a ghost and throw peanuts at old ladies.

Simon I gave my boogeyman story. I am interested in reading if anybody else has had any encounters. Not my brothers wifes sisters neighbors cousin story. First hand.

I am interested as well, and also thoughts about why are all of these things seem limited to small chance encounters, no disrespect intended Andy but the fact that so many of these things, ghosts, monsters etc etc have such similarly fleeting contact, this is what tends to invalidate their existence to me.
I am not going to bag on anyone for their stories, I am looking to challenge my perception of these things.

Simon, Sorry, but I had to touch on this first.
Tony - Sorry for not speaking up sooner. I had not been following this post. I should have known when I saw Ryans name that I should have checked it out!
Ryan, This is silly (even for you): RT - This is why Jesus couldnt use his Power for his own benefit (turning stone into bread). WM - Jesus had all of the powers of God. It was His choice to invoke them or not.
Joseph Sirois (JS) - So your answer is, God is full well knowing creating people who are predestined to go to hell. WM - I'd have to agree with Ryan here (did I just say that?). Yes, God does know from the moment of conception. We have free will. God does not alter what we do.
RT - Steven Mary was not without sin. If she were she would not have died. WM - Wrong again my friend. Not only was she without sin before Jesus' birth, she remained that way after. You better go check on the readings of your mentor Luther. He said it too :-)
Tony Carpenter (TC) - According to the Catholic belief Mary didn't die, she assended into heaven WM - Actually, Jesus ascended (own power), Mary was assumed (By the power of God - See Assumption of Mary)
Mike West (MW) - Mike West - Where would that be found in the Bible ? According to the Bible only 2 people assended into heaven, and Mary wasn't one of them WM - Will get to you on this as I am gathering my info :-)
RT - Mary didnt ascend to heaven. WM - I keep forgetting that you were there :-)
Bill

Me and a friend of mine along time ago was walking down the road one night. we sat on the edge of a bridge and was talking. All of a sudden he jumps up off the bridge curses a lil bit and runs down the road. Im sitting there in shock of why he all of a sudden did this as i all i hear or his feet slap the pavement and fading in the dark. He back and told me he swore someone was running after him. But i was with him the whole time noone was there he said he saw a man about 6 foot tall 5o feet away. Needless to say before me and my friend started walking down the road he got high. This was one of the funniest memories i have growing up in my neighborhood.

I like you Bill ;D
Im interested in where Mary ascended to heaven. This would be interesting. I dont doubt the possiblility but ive never heard this before. And even if she had she is still not someone to pray to.
HOWEVER id like to see also more importantly where mary had no sin. This teaching contradicts Romans 3:23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Martin Luther was not perfect nor infalible. After the reformation he still kept many of the teachings of the catholic church that were not scriptural. I do not hold him on a high pedistool. I just like him.
