Oh brother. You guys either don't know them or you are just plain clueless. Tom wouldn't do anything and neither would Travis. They might have their little words between them but it would never escalate into anything worth worrying about. They were wrong but crap happens and sometimes emotions and adrenaline get the best of us all.
Relax people, relax.

Glad to see my post stimulated some different perspectives and thats why I like this board. The post was intended to focus on the fact that kids dont need to view or hear that kind of behavior and not intended to take shots at two very talented pullers. I am a father first and foremost, as is bagent, and I would venture a guess that he wouldnt behave that way around them either. I read someone thought it to be intertaining to watch this, but honestly the best intertainment I get is watching people like matt harris or cobra. they showed respect for the opponent, never lost self control, and were humble in their victories. Thats intertainment without the WWE style!

Mike, I see your point. However, in my opinion it seems to be half an half, in armwrestling. Some like it some don't (WWE crap)!! Entertaining......................A little.....

But everyone knows that WWE crap is all just an act.
What they did was not an act.
If everyone knows its an act, then it could be entertaining but when its not an act, it is NOT entertaining, its embarrassing

So, what you're saying it was real??? No playing to the people/cameras??? More excitement+drama= more exposure?

Both men are better than they displayed on the aired video.

Sorry to respond again so quick.... The drama I like is me taking Gene Dunn to within an inch of the pad, rcving an elbow verbal and not being smart enough to adjust accordingly, losing the match and the national championship. Andrew and Simon both politely pointed that fact out afterwords. What went on between Travis and Tom was in the heat of the moment. Pete and Karen said it all.

i personally enjoy that crap a bit. Nobody complains about hockey and those dudes are tossin the gloves and going to blows! Does anybody think hockey is not a legitament sport! Soccer with all their crazy fans, football has its fights, baseball has its brawls, managers kickin dirt at the umps, tossin bases, spittin on each others shoes, and then theres armwrestling where two guys occasionally get over hyped and everybody makes a big stink on it. MMA will never be in the olympics but do you think anyone cares? probably not cause its making millions! People as long as the dudes are cool after the match then let it ride

Were they cool after the match? They usually are, but they didn't seem like it this time.

good points Jake. but again our kids learn from OUR behavior. gary you have to be the best moderator out there man! you dont really give your solid opinion and you float outside the perimeter of the conversation occasionally dropping a line or two. hilarious! smart man.

Isn't it "OUR" behavior also with the sports that Jake listed? Professional athletes that play sports such as baseball, football and the others listed, have been role models for years to "OUR" kids and all we see is how they get caught using drugs, driving drunk, beating their wives, cheating on their wives, killing their wives, fighting dogs and so on, but we as amateur athletes should set the example right?

Are 'we' a gimmic to earn somebody $$ , or are we self-respecting people like the ones who support tourneys like Pull for the Hungry and other big charity events? Andrew Rhodes and I had a wonderful conversation in Denver, back in 2006......Simply summed up~~ " Pull hard, represent well, shut up, get back to the table' ...Quite frankly, I'm here to beat you, not draw a crowd.
