this is from pets thread,
christian, You didn't listen to the video 100%. You took what you wanted.
***********************
If you look at my first first title to the video. It is why will the sport never go anywhere.
and it is directed at those of us who are ticked off that the sport has remained where it is.
For example, Christian binnies post in the other thread about all the injuries and still has to tell people that you don't make a living at it. and so on.
Clearly there is a section of the armwrestling community that doesn't like the fact of where we still are after all these years.
and it has never been fully explained as to why. I fully explained it.
there is nothing wrong with being in the second category if it doesn't really matter to you. Your in it for the fun of it and that is no problem. No worries there.
Chris Lydman, you said it the entire thing was non sense but it isn't.
if you really listen to it you see that I actually say we need more category twos to grow the sport.
again...this entire thing only applies to anyone who wants to see the sport grow. if you don't really care then you shouldn't be getting involved in this thread. This is for people who are frustrated and want to know why.
but the main point is "get the word out"
1. to get people to know.
a) once you know, you have to fall into the other category
either
a) care b) not care
when it comes to the job of growing the sport who those of us who are trying out there, what is holding us back is the size of the groups.
you should only be worrying about any of this if you fall into the group that I am in. And that is blowing the SHIZ up.
BUT ARM TV is the best way to do it. And I will prove it.

ARMSPORT VIDEOS IS AWESOME!! WWW.ARMSPORTVIDEOS.COMROCK ON. I AM right on board with you christian. Haven't you see that we have worked together. I want Scott to succeed. That knocks down "don't knows" There is plenty for all!!! I have a different business model and there is nothing wrong with that. It has worked so far for us. Christian Binnie. Do you wish you had our sponsor or something? Is that the reason for the anger? Do you think you could do better with the sponsorship money? Did you talk to Don Fritsche about it? It is a free country. Call him up. I said in my video. If I don't do it I hope someone else can. How is that snake oil?

wow, many opinions, on both sides. My personal one is that I remember driving 6 hours one way to my first event. The promoter told me on the phone before what to expect. I had no idea how to "top-roll" or anything. We tried to learn at the event, and flyer's came in the mail. It took forever to learn, and it was impossible to find events.
The Internet, and ARM-TV by extension, have done wonders. Even if it never grows, it has become easily accessible for people to learn, see, and find things out. I for one am really afraid that some day Gary would close up shop. I'm not even discussing if he is a pitch man, or honest, thats beside the point to me. The service he offers, and things he has done, have benefited me. The money I pay is worth it. Many people on this board sell this or that, and many sell for a living. (me) I push hard, and even manipulate people for personal gain, and they pay me to do it! The more I sell, the more I make. And any customer can leave at anytime. I think many people play a part in where this sport is/or will go. This board is a great example, the fact Gary could get so much interest in this video is a huge indicator of that. Again, not saying if it was silly or not, just that people from around the world now have access to information. I suck at arm-wrestling, but I'm very grateful for the opportunity to see it and talk about it and learn. My friendships with the guys I train with are also an extension of that. We talk about people and events all over the country. We talk about seeing someone pull, from around the world. So I'm thankful to anyone who does anything that benefits my friends and me.
p.s.- my personal belief is this sport has more then its fair share of narcissists, and we hold each other back. Those same people are also most often the most successful at it. I think thats the best personality to do well at this sport, but also the worst to promote or grow it. Double Edge sword huh?
Either way I respect anyone who gets on a table in front of a crowd of people man on man, knowing they could lose.

Jim,
you may not be one of the best armwrestlers but i learn things from you as a person.i respect your opinions because most of them make sense to me (i said "most" because it is hard to agree about everything all the time).
i believe that organisors should get stronger to provide better things for the armwrestlers, but we also expect organisors to be honest & fair with the armwrestlers.these are my general opinions which are not addressing anyone in negative or positive ways.

Sorry Devon, if I ever do that again. It will be for some serious action.
stephen,
I am passionate for the sport, you can't say that isn't true.
you might find some money in Kansas City. If you would like to give me a call I can tell you where the other money is going. if you have any advice on how it could be better spent, I am willing to listen.
Thanks
I only want members who appreciate the service and what it does for the sport. That isn't begging.
All this Huplaa!! I love it. That was an experiment for what I want to do to the world. A bunch of armwrestling Huplaa everywhere.
AS long as people know about it. They don't need to care. Just know.

Why? has the sport not grown. And I have never seen it broken down. So when I figured it out, it was time to tell.
;[/quote]
To answer that question Gary, Its rather simple, Cuz to many people in high positions amongst all the organizations have benevolent agendas and are not willing to hand over the power reigns to FILA, the IOC or sport canada. Once a governing body takes over the executive members of such federations as USAA, CAWF and AAA are left powerless. That is the MAIN reason this sport has gone nowhere and will probably never go anywhere....
its JMO but i think many will agree.

that is a pretty good opinion.
if a major sponsor came to me and said we would inject a million dollars into ARM TV but you would have to give up your position.
I would be very reluctant.
but as chris says, I only want $$$
the real reason is that I don't want to give up my vision
certain people wanted to come on board ROTN in the beginning and that could have injected more money into it but I would not have been able to switch up the format and try new things so I went alone.
but I am just interested in $$$$
hmmmmm
