SO BACK ON TOPIC.
I really ponder about the nationals again....with me myself, I don't have any goals of leaving my country...(much less my own county) so really Unifieds is NOT the more attractive nationals of the 3? it'll more than likely be AAA's that I go to as my first nationals. beings theres 3 of them.

TK "attractive"? Thats a funny way of putting it.. So if AAAs were in Buffalo, NY like last yr or in 07, and Unifieds were in, oh lets say ATL OR Orlando, and the USAAs were in SC, you would still choose AAAs?

i'm anxious to see where AAA's will be next year and how the nationlas are placed on the calender for 2014 myself. Damn sure shouldn't be on the east coast. What a poor lack of participation where pullers are heavily populated within driving distance and still didn't go.. Not everyone's grandma died, not everyone has a horrible wife that wouldn't let them go, not everyone's kid had a soccer game lol..

I was listening to sports talk radio this morning and the host said something interesting. I'll spare you the details but it got me thinking, perhaps armwrestling should go to more of a golf format. Rather than consider these large events 'national championships', why not consider them 'majors'? Some golf tournaments are huge, with huge purses, but are not majors. Seems to me a ton of armwrestling events fall into that category. Rather than win multiple 'national championships' in a year, a great armwrestler would win multiple 'majors'.
Just a thought.

I sent an e-mail to the USAF. Which had all the member of USAF, AAA and USAA.
I suggested to show True unification that the AAA and USAA should change to their name to something like USAA International Pro/AM and AAA League Cup Championship. To be honest, I forget the actual names with the suggestion. Of course it was not liked.
IMO the history of events should not matter. Look to the Future. Changing the names of these events will not hurt those events. But might bring more legitimacy to the single USAF Nationals.
I also suggested using the old AAA idea of having memberships and offering FREE trial for ARMTV. Having USAF state directors and USAF sanctioned events, all to raise more and more money for Team USA. This idea alone would of easily raised $10,000 for Team USA. Once again, not done.
I do not like saying, as I consider the USAF boards friends but they don't truly work together and all have other motives and/or priorities.

Also, the USAF should Host its own event. This way the USAF will Double the money it makes on the USAF Nationals. For ex. When I did the Nationals in Salt Lake City in 2008, The event made about $7,000-$8,000 net profit. TBO I don't fully remember the exact amount. As Host, I and the USAF split the money. I gave all my money to Team USA. That year, others donated, had raffles, sold t-shirts. All together we raised about 10-12k for Team USA.
This could be done every year. Just these 2 ideas would bring about $20k for Team USA

Just these 2 ideas would bring about $20k for Team USA I maintained then when proposed and I still maintain that will not bring in extra money. Take Alabama for instance, we had 6000.00 in sponsorship and made under 1000.00 profit. The cost of hosting and running a Unified is not the same as it was in 2008. The rules have changed and the location of Worlds make a huge difference. Also if it wasn't for the chance of getting something back for the hundred of hours promoting the Nationals, we would never use up a sponsor for that kind of money. So you then have National sponsorship under 3000 and therefor limiting the return. Also the ability to bid on a National event is the only thing that general members get out of being a member. Take that away and you might as well just disband the entire idea of Unifying all the associations under one umbrella and just make the entire organization WWC, IAF, NAL.

Having 3,4,5 National title events just waters down the legitimacy of any National Title. USAF should be to only one to two main reasons. Its the qualifier for WAF worlds but also it currently has the most credibility as the best in the country. Also, if I were King. LOL USAF Nationals would be in Vegas every year and on the same weekend every year. Then do everything possible to raise money to help send Team USA to the worlds for free. Agree with Bob 100%.
