i am not a Tyson fan.. i watched the match between Tyson and Holyfield,IMO Holyfield's head hits to Tyson was the reason that Tyson did that stupid ear bite. i also believe that those cheap b.tches are money hunters who laid&lied to get money from him. the life is a test for all of us and not everyone is facing same kind of experiences.so it is hard to understand someone without being his shoes.Tyson did destroy some punks who provocated him,it still was a mistake but it is not always possible to hold your peace when the world is full of provocators. once again,i am not a fan of Tyson but i believe that he was one of the best boxer ever in his prime time.i am the fan of the GREATEST

when Muhammad Ali was the best, boxing had it's golden age.i say this because if George Foreman at his 40s came and got the belt in 90s then it just shows what an incredible level the boxing had in the late 60s and early 70s.important is,in what conditions you were the best.it is also same in armwrestling too, when i compare the past world championships with today's i just see a huge increased level today.not because it is more current now but it is obvious to see the much harder competetions.
if the Man had never been made out of boxing he would have gone without losing for 18 years. Ali was stripped of his title by the professional boxing commission and would not be allowed to fight professionally for more than three years. He was also convicted for refusing induction into the army and sentenced to five years in prison.if these did not happen Ali would go so many years undefeated at the golden age of boxing.he won 1960 olympics and his only lost would be against Leon Spinks after 18 years, but He was idle for 3 1/2 years at the peak of his career. In 1971 the Supreme Court ruled that the government had acted improperly.he would have never lost to Joe Frazier (who i also admire!!! ) in 1971 if he kept boxing without this brake.but he later beat Frazier two times to prove that he is the GREATEST.
he was choisen as "THE ATHLETE OF THE CENTURY".he also was the smartest athlete ever!!
"Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill."
"I am America. I am the part you won't recognize, but get used to me. Black, confident, cocky. My name, not yours. My religion, not yours. My goals, my own. Get used to me."
"I know where I'm going and I know the truth, and I don't have to be what you want me to be. I'm free to be what I want."
the whole world has been inspired by his life, career and his words.he sure is the greatest even though i am not a black man.

Compared to Joe Louis? Rocky fought & beat Joe to get the shot at the title. Was Joe past his prime? Yes... just as was Ali when Holmes beat him & Holmes was when Tyson beat him. Evander was the #1 contender for almost 2yrs while Tyson held onto the title by ducking him with the help of Don King. Once Tyson had nothing to lose & everything to gain did they fight, the outcome was still the same. Tyson never had the heart Holyfield possesses!

Not gonna get involved in this conversation.......
Rock Marciano is and was One badd mother Trucker....
Mike Tyson was and is the baddest man on the planet. He was lethal from 1986 until his rape conviction in the 1990's,
Muhammed Ali did float like a butterfly and sting like a bee, He was the greatest of his era. Possibly All time.
George Foreman what can you say, did things no one thought was possible past his forties, Kinda the pioneer for guys like Cotoutre and Chris Chelios, opened the door fo playing your sport into your forties.
Evander Holyfield was often over looked because he didnt posses Mikes craziness ot Lennox lewis's Flair. Holyfield just showed up and boxed. Evander was awesome.
All these guys Had their moment under the sun, but like all good things they have come to an end, The heavy weight boxing division is nothing compared to yesteryear. Boxing is in trouble becausethey have no one in the heavyweight class that can carry that division like these guys did. The boxers are good, but their not to marketable and boxing is a business they need marketable fighters which the heavyweight division severly lacks.
As for Joe Louis yeah he was good, but heres some trivia for you, all that money he made and guess what it was Max Baer who paid for his funeral upon his death because Louis was a poverty stricken destitute after he retired from the sport. At least these guys have a nest egg, well maybe not Tyson but he just has to fight once a year to collect a few million to keep him afloat.
Real fighters were guys like George Chuvalo, Max Bear, Jack Dempsey, Billy Miske...these guys were fighters not like todays crop who fight once or twice a year, these guys faught once or twice a month...

I REALLY LOVE HOW HE FOUGHT FOR HIS COUNTRY....
CASS CLAY was his name , he'll never be the greatest in my eyes. greatest big mouth of the sport.
with that being said he was real good boxer. not bad for a converted religion fella.
and no i haven't watched his movie....refuse to.
there have been better boxers than him..i'm very sure of that.

i think Tyson in his early 20's would have knocked Ali out when Ali was in is prime and to Prove it i played a boxing game for PS3 on the hardest setting that has all these guys in it, and I was Iron Mike, and well I laid out Mr. Ali in the fourth round......

Ali would have destroyed Tyson when both were in their prime. Foreman would have too. Tyson was good not great. He could have been great but he was too much of a punk. The greats of the 60's 70's and 80's would have destoryed him: Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Shavers, jimmy Young. Granted Buster Douglas beat him when Tyson was a shell of former self, but Tyson never was the type to get up and win after being knocked down. He was a quitter when people stood up to him or refused to be intimidated.
Maricano was great, but he was a light heavyweight. As much as I like him, I do not believe that he could hang with the bigger heavier guys.
