I only got a chance to read some of this thread and a couple of posts jumped out at me so I felt the need to respond. Justin K. asked if I, as a christian, would love my gay son/daughter. Why wouldnt I? I love my son regardless of what he does and this will never change. As a christian I believe homosexuality is a sin, but so is lying, stealing, murder etc. I dont believe a homosexual is more sinfull then myself or anyone else. Gods standards are perfection and none of us reach that thus the need for a savior, Jesus. As a christian we are not to hate anyone for being gay. God loves everyone and that includes homosexuals. He hates sin but no the sinners. So again the idea of hating my kid because of them being gay is rediculous. . .
Also on the idea of homosexuality being a choice or a born trait. The evidence really doesnt show us much either way. The word "choice" is being used loosely. I think alot of people are abused or go through alot of horrible stuff early in life and this can affect kids/adults in a number of different ways and alot of research points to this being the case in "alot" of homosexual cases. I actually have a good friend who is gay and they confirm this. I say all of this to say I try not to judge others because I havent been in thier shoes and I dont know what they have gone through.

J.D wrote: "First off I don't support Gays..etc,etc" NICE!!!!!!!!!!! UNLESS you mean gay rights?
NANCY: You say you work in a Penitentiary? By your statment it doesn't "READ" like you know why MOST homosexuality occurs in a MALE prison.
Pete: Way to go on your response to Allens thread!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure Chris will come back with an educated rebuttal and not to sound biased but I agree with Chris with a little less anger. It would be nice to have a constructive debate, argument or what have you with less of the "You will burn in hell" one sided debate. Have you select few realized that once you all get going, not very many people contribute to the thread. Why? because it is never ending!!! And nobody has answered my question, religious folks!! Will you love your gay son/daughter? or will you damn them to hell? or try to "CURE" them? That's a fair question Justin. I have 2 daughters and I can't think of anything that they could do to make me stop loving them. I have brought them up Catholic. They already know my beliefs. But I have very clearly told them that I would love them, exactly the same, if they turned out to be attracted to females and not males. My wife and I have educated them in every aspect of human sexuality to the best of our ability. I have encouraged them for as long as it made sense, to never be afraid to tell us or ask us anything. They know that we would help them deal with issues like teen pregnancy. They have nothing to fear. How they deal with ALL of their life issues will eventually be entirely up to them. They will have their own relationships with God, and hopefully, decades to experience what life has to offer. When I deal with other people, the last thing that would come to my mind would be that person's sexual orientation. That's like being curious about a person's sexual preferences. BORING!!! What the hell does that have to do with me? I'm only interested in what my wife likes. Take care, Bob

All i can tell you is that god sent fire from heaven and destoyed Sobom and Gomorrah and the tribe of Benjamin was destroyed down to 600 men for this. Those people who have gay thoughts need to fast and pray and ask god to show them why those demons have the right to torment them with those thoughts and ask him to remove them. Those thoughts come from demons whether you want to except it or not.

Well Pete we are all supposed to be made in the image of GOD. Even if we don't seem to act like we are supposed to. Just cause we look like him doesn't mean we act like him. IMO
IT's like twins just because they look alike they don't act alike or just because they were born the same day don't mean they will be the same??? (even if their not identical)

I never said anything at anytime about killing gays nor will i.If you have things like porn that has that in it in your house than you have invited those demons into your home and they will torment you with thoughts.I think Ryan just made a mistake with those words and he has apoligized

So Robert, now if I have gay porn in my house, I'm letting demons in?
What if I download it?
Will they come through the screen or will they have hidden messages in the playback?

Since he is from the South? Dude, I am from the South and by saying what you did you wrap all of us in your racist comment. That is discriminatory toward us "in the South" - meaning whites in the south. Do you see where you were just being racist in your comment? Do you think black people were the only ones who were hung in the South? You just admitted to saying a similar thing Ryan did, but you said it in the context in which you're accusing Ryan of. Come on man. You know I would be the first one to call Ryan out on something, but this did not have to do with race. Homosexuality? Yes. Was it wrong to say what he did? Yes. Is he wrong that he believes it? Possibly, but he is also granted his religious opinions with consent from others even though it offends more people than this opinion. Ryan is in an area where he is aware of the presence of the Klan. In recognizing it it seems as if he may share the same views of them, since he is "from the South", but I know he not capable of being racist. First off, Congrats to Allen Hester for being the first to see and point out my prejudice ways. Second, Allen you said,"Was it wrong to say what he did? Yes. Is he wrong that he believes it? Possibly, but he is also granted his religious opinions with consent from others even though it offends more people than this opinion". Are you serious? He is also granted his religious opinion? So because of his religious opinion, he can say that all gays should be hung from a tree? Are you kidding me? Your right Allen, you are from the south too, because you are just as stupid as Ryan. Hopefully the rest of the south is a lot smarter. Hey, melonhead, you need to re-read what I wrote and read it slower this time! I do not condone what Ryan said and clearly stated that he was wrong in saying it! I said he is granted, by the people who supports his views, his opinions with his religion more than he is supported on this subject! I can't help it if you're too stupid to see it had nothing to do with racism, which was the whole reason for blowing up the way you did. As usual, you jumped to conclusions. I am just as "stupid"? I am not the one who uses "your" for "you are"......stupid!! Handled my thread, Christian?

Yeah, Pete just keeps using, AND KNOWS IT, the wrong word, RACISM/T.....Like I previously posted, its more like an IGNORANT BIGOT...PETE KNOWS THAT!!! I also believe EVERYONE knows what Pete means..... Being where Ryan is from and aware of the Klans presence. In recognizing it, it seems as if he may share the same views of them since he is "from the South", but I know he is not capable of being a racist........ ? Oh. o.k.....Besides an ignorant bigot, what does it make him IF that statement COULD be true, IF not a racist? "SOMETIMES" and I am saying "SOMETIMES", "SOME" people HIDE their racism behind their "beliefs" by using their religion and quoting, or SOMETIMES MISQUOTING ( I guess it all depends on how you interpret it, OR how your Pastor or Priest, interprets it) such "books" like the bible.

Pete -
You have every right to say the things you do about Ryan. But why do you keep saying he's left-handed? Because he isn't. Just curious.

Thank you Austin and Bob, for responding to my question. I have one comment: I know you say you would love them because that's what your faith tells you to do and that's what most loving parents would do. I just don't see how in this one case (your own kids) how it magically becomes "not so bad." The reason I asked that particular question is I knew a guy that had only 1 son and we got on the subject about gays. He was very passionate about his opinion. I wanted to stir the debate a little and I asked him "What if your son came to you and said ghe was gay, what would you do?" He very quickly said I would dis-own him. This wasn't a religious man, so given all that was said by a few in this thread, I figured someone would have the same idiotic opinion that he did. I would like to see if put in that situation you do what you say you would do. ;D I only got a chance to read some of this thread and a couple of posts jumped out at me so I felt the need to respond.
