Hi Angel, My system of rankings ( armwrestlingrankings.bravehost.com ) is based on a number of factors. Obviously, recent results hold the most influence. Not all tournament results get posted online, so this is one limitation of the process. Not every armwrestler has competed against every other armwrestler on the list, so assumptions must be made on how two competitors would fare against each other. In the case of Mr. Klemba, I think he is the top left hand puller in the northeast under 176, but he hasn't competed very much outside of the area and as far as I know he hasn't competed in many of the big money events that attract the highest calibre pullers. He has pulled very few of the individuals ranked ahead of him so it is hard to argue that he should currently be ranked much higher. My rankings are not based so much on how often a person competes, as much as how well a person performs when he/she does compete. Of course, they must have at least competed since the summer of 2004 to be considered. Inactive pullers will eventually be dropped off the list. I hope this answers your questions about my rankings. If you have any other questions, just let me know. Eric PS: I do agree that Ron is on a hot streak right now and it would not surprise me that he climbs up the rankings very soon. I just need to see him compete more with other ranked pullers.

The North American Armwrestling Rankings have been updated today. The biggest change is that Michael Todd has shot up the lists. Congratulations! armwrestlingrankings.bravehost.com

More money is being offered in these women's classes than was offered in Las Vegas last year, and more than any other tournament in recent memory. When was the last time big money was offered in the same amount to both the men's and women's classes? The cash prizes are $1200 for 1st, $500 for 2nd, $200 for 3rd, and $100 for 4th in every pro class.

Hi Jeramie,
If Badger has beaten some of the ranked pullers in the past year, could you please let me know which ones and at what tournaments? My goal is to make the rankings as accurate as possible, so I'd like access to all the results I can.

Tamara is ranked, but under her new name (Tamara Finn). I think the US 154 class is probably the most competitive one right now, and it is very difficult to determine exactly where each puller should rank. I think if both Bryon and Gabe compete a bit more, it will help straighten out the rankings.

Pullers who pull in the 209 class will either be considered for the 198s or 220s. A guy like Jim Bryan who almost never pulls the 198s would be ranked in the 220s. However, a guy like Todd Hutchings who usually competes in the 198s, would likely be ranked in the 198s.
I've thought a long time about whether or not I should rank people in more than one class. The 220s and Supers cause the biggest problems, because a handful of pullers (John B, Ron, Devon, Marcio, etc.) are definitely among the top 10 heavyweights, but can almost always make the 220 class. I think by excluding these pullers from the supers, it takes away from the rankings. However, I'd appreciate all of the opinions I can get on the subject.

Due to popular demand, a 220 class has been added to the PinArm rankings. In doing so, I did not want to dilute the unlimited class by only ranking some pullers in the 220 class and not in the supers, when these pullers routinely pull both the 220s and higher weight classes. Therefore, you will see some pullers listed in both classes. www.pinarm.com/Rankings/Rankings.htm

Luke -- Disagreeing with the rankings is fine as they can never be perfect. I am interested in knowing what you think is off and why, so that I can potentially improve them.

Austin -- I agree with your point about Jacob and Bill. I think Jaob's recent performance is slightly better. I have switched their positions in the right hand. As for Luke and Mike, I don't feel that I have enough information to rank Luke higher. Luke has had a good year, but he hasn't pulled many top left hand pullers this year. Mike on the other hand won 2nd in Vegas in a stacked class. He did lose to Todd and Kevin at Mohegan Sun so his level seems to have dropped a bit, but I don't think I can rank Luke ahead just yet. Hopefully we'll soon be able to see this match-up.
Matl'e -- Pulling and beating heavier pullers in competition take have an effect on rankings, however it makes it more difficult to determine your actual weight. If I see you pull in a 154 class and a 176 class in the same event, I know that you're under 154 so this is the class where you would be ranked. However, if you just pull up it's harder for me to tell.

I'd like to thank everyone who has provided feedback so far on the rankings. With the information I've received and some more results that I've uncovered, I've decided to make a few small changes. This is a work in progress, so keep the feedback coming! armwrestlingrankings.bravehost.com/

Thanks for the feedback guys. I had not seen Devin's name in many of the right-handed tournament results from the past year or so, so I was unsure where he ranked. Does anyone recall who beat Devin right-handed at the 2005 Las Vegas event?

In addition to the Canadian armwrestling rankings I recently developed, I've expanded to include rankings for the US and North America. These rankings will eventually be merged onto the PinArm site, so please take a look at them and post your comments about anything you disagree with. No list can be perfect, but I believe these rankings paint a fairly accurate picture of the current state of armwrestling in North America. View the rankings here: armwrestlingrankings.bravehost.com/

Upon popular demand, I will be adding a 70 kg women's class to the rankings in February. I would do it sooner, but I am leaving on vacation for a few weeks and will not have much access to a computer.
I'd like people's opinions on who you think the current top 5 right hand heavyweight women are. The list I came up with is
1 - Dalia 2 - Nicole 3 - Danya 4 - Renee 5 - Cynthia
I think that aside from Dalia being in the number one spot, arguments can be made regarding who should be in positions 2 through 5. The main reason Nicole is ranked number 2 is because of her performance at the 2005 Las Vegas event. She finished second in a stacked class. Although Mary has beaten Nicole several times in past years, I don't necessarily think she should be ranked ahead of Nicole right now. I say this because Mary seems to go back and forth with Cynthia. Cynthia lost to Danya and finished behind Nicole in Vegas. This type of scenario confuses things a bit. I'm trying to develop rankings that are primarily based on results, but these types of results make it difficult.
Please let me know if you disagree or agree with my list, and why.

The men's weight classes are the same for both right and left as well as amateur and pro: 0-154 lbs; 155-187 lbs; 188-220 lbs; 221+ lbs. The women's classes are 0-143 lbs and 144+ lbs, right arm only. The cash prizes are $1200 for 1st; $500 for 2nd; $200 for 3rd; and $100 for 4th in every pro class.
